ive tried and tried and i can never get deep bass mastered at all.
i think deep bass makes the song, so thats why i need some help,
im messing around with some zelda midis and i put a deep bass over the low piano and the bass over powers the whole thing, i turned down the bass and put some damping over it, and it still over powers it

could anyone tell me how to master it or make it sound bassy but not over power everything, im in FL

btw the bass it turn down like half way, and the piano is about 115%

try putting ur bass in stereo , Limit , copy bass add stereo spread and do a slight low cut with buzz layer

i use logic so doing this sorta stuff is easy as because of the bundled plugins , but if i were you try looking a vintage stereo spread plugin and use Kjaerhus limiter that

well it sounds a bit like youve churned the bass through a blood overdrive, if this is the case then go into the mixer and turn down the channel that the bass effects are on...

Seperate your bass layers.

One layer playing the low end (sub) one playing the mid range buzzy bass.

For a sub bass all you really need is a sine for now, you can experiment with it later. Don't put any FX (distortion etc) on this as you want the sub nice and clean. Then create a mid range buzzy layer just using a saw for now, again experiment with this later. Add some FX onto this, distortion, bitcrushing etc. When done group them both together.

Just a bit of a basic run through as i'm quite tired and can't be bothered going into it too much at the mo. Try it out see how you get on and if you're still having problems, i'll help out as much as i can (when i perk up a bit)
