Too much going on in the second sample. A wise monk once told me, "Less is more". Only it wasn't a monk, and no one actually told me. In fact, I might not even know what I'm talking about.

But go with the first one ;p

The 2nd one sounds more gabba to me than the 1st. Will have a little play later and repost a sample!

There is too much goin on in the 2nd sample and it is at 180bpm

I don't like either of them to be honest. I prefer the more harder distorted sound myself: http://www12.zippyshare.com/v/99394295/file.html

Out of the two though I'd say the first one you have is better because it's cleaner.

Also there seems to be a bit of phasing going on in the 1st clip.

Watch and learn. I ****ing love Sytrus! Simply distorting the **** out of a regular kick drum isn't enough. You'd do better to create it from scratch using a synth. Watch that clip if you have Sytrus. It comes with the FL demo doesn't it? Not sure about the full version, but virtually any synth can create that sound. Sytrus may be a bit trickier as it's FM Synthesis i believe? but there's tutorials for it so you should be fine.
