Hey guys, I thought I might produce some HHC. I know my way around FL Studio pretty well, so I thought I'd use that. What are some good VSTs I should use? I know that's an odd question because music is about creativity and not staying inside the box of what might be considered the norm. Anyways, I still need something to start out with synth wise. I'd like something like the synth on Scott Brown's "Neckbreaker".

Thanks

Edit: I do have Vanguard right now which I know is very awesome. What I'd like at the moment though are free vst, I'm saving my money for decks.

Synth1 is awesome for a wide range of sounds. Also try Genesis (sounds almost as good as Sylenth1 but is a nightmare to program), Crystal (for weird and unusual textures), Free Alpha (good leads), Triangle II (good basses), TAL BassLine (raw monophonic stuff, a decent emulation of SH-101). Some of the FL Studio synths can be useful too (SimSynth can be good for layering, 3xOSC uses up very little memory so it's perfect for simple stuff, Sytrus can sound really awesome but it's hard to program).

There's also a very nice free 303 plugin that Hard2Get recommended me some time ago. Maybe he can help with the name.

Tbh i loved Sytrus and didn't find it too difficult, though i was just starting out so i wasn't exactly making complex, Ephexis style synth blips and shit lol.

Sakari check this out too

Korg LegacyCell is pretty awesome. It has some heavenly-sounding presets for breakdowns and for adding some ambiance to your track.

I use samples only for this case.

Bought last weeks those 2 sample packs (declared as electro house but fits to happy hardcore too because of the chords):

Also rules out vanguard, but that didn't stop him LOL

P.S. Vanguard is shite.

Edit: P.P.S. I'm pretty sure neckbreaker would have been made with a hardware synth. Possibly a Virus. So unless you wanna spend a few grand on some hardware, you won't emulate it very well.

Yeah, it's totally not that easy.
