Is Unicorn Kid overrated in the UK?

Everyone in the states is in love with that Scottish Chip Tune artist Unicorn Kid. I'm gonna go see him when he comes to New York City since it'll basically be a one time opportunity. I'm wondering if he's completely overrated there in the UK since he plays shows there all the time.

Really? He's been on Radio 1 a lot. Idk if that means anything to you, I'm just guessing it ones of the radio stations on the UK.

If you like chip tune, you should check him out. His stuff is good in small doses.

Never heard of him either, so that's a resounding no. Radio1 is probably the biggest Radio station in the UK, but his music wouldn't be played at peak times i wouldn't have thought. Either way having listened to some of his tunes i can say, he's shit and quite late to the whole 8bit fad. Seriously this music is awful and, granted i've only heard clips on youtube and his myspace, sounds pretty poorly produced.

Never heard of him either, but then again I can never imagine chip tune being played at any hour on Norwegian radio stations. And I'm not into the chip scene enough to have heard of him either :p
