I am relatively new to the scene and to DJing and I need a bit of mentoring. I like Hardstyle, Gabber, and Speedcore. With that in mind, I was wondering what all equipment I need for a complete set-up. And perhaps some proper software as well. Any advice would be greatly appreciated too.

Yeah my first mixer only cost me about £40 :p Stanton SMX202 it's called, simple 2 channel mixer to learn the basics on ^^
I also have Stanton T62 turntables, they're pretty cheap and decent, if you find tech 12s to be a bit out of your price range :p

Don't the T.62s have pretty bad torque? I've never used them (along with any dj equipment), but I've read they're hard especially for beginners since the platter doesn't have enough power to spin when you even just slightly press the vinyl, so it's harder to cue.

haha gary & rowan you guys are cracking me up
first you need to decide what medium you would like to dj with vinyl or cds
what would be ideal is to try and find someone in your area that will allow you to try out their equipment. it's usually a good idea to try djing out first before you jump into a very expensive hobby.

I just jumped into it, wanted to try mixing but I don't know anyone who does, so I just bought myself a pair of turntables and a mixer ;D

I think I'll use a CDJ. I guess I could see using vinyl if I was attempting Jungle or something of the sort. But I think a CD would work best for Speedcore. Thank you all for the advice.
