Has anyone hear heard:
Captain Ahab
Sonic Death Rabbit
The Tleilaxu Music Machine
or any of the other new electro artists who have been writing vocal music with STRONG influences from the hardcore rave scene? What is your opinion on such musix?

never heard of any of them, but lots of dance music borrows from other dance music...most modern rock borrows from dance these days too

Yeah well no.. but I love Technikal's "Supersonic", it's a kind of Electro Hard House track, very bouncy and stuff, with Hardcore influences.. I love it :)
There are also a lot of Hardcore producers who produce House besides Hardcore. Orbit1, Fakkah or Steve Hill, just to name a few.

All the people I listed are definitely outside of the hardcore or even dance scene really. its something else entirely, but drawing heavily from hardcore sounds and stylings.
thanks for the replies tho, they were informative.

here is a Los Angeles Weekly article about the phenomenon I am referring to:
http://www.laweekly.com/2008-06-19/music/gabber-gabber-hey/ some tleilaxu music machine: www.myspace.com/ttmm this is a captain ahab song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pq4flu9o41E all his songs are pretty different tho, so I wouldn't say its totally representative... I am more from this kinda scene, the weird crossover whatever scene, so I was curious how more straight-up hardcore people would react to this kind of music. [tlr]

interesting article...
though i get the impression they think hardcores gone...whereas in the last three weeks we've had two hardcore compilations in the top 10 here in the UK :P
i listened through a few of his songs, i wouldnt say its so far from what other producers have been doing over the years though (Mindless Self Indulgence and hollywood undead spring to mind)
its interesting though, i saw it tagged on a few sites as "DIY Dance music" because of how thrown together it sounds, not that its a bad thing of course..

yeah its definitely been a growing trend for quite some time. I am pretty happy with how its evolving though... Hardcore is probably much bigger in the UK than here. Its pretty underground, at least in Los Angeles. The big "rave parties" (the big official legal ones) are all psytrance. -_- What are those two compilations? I want to download them...
