I don't see what's wrong with it. Tape packs aren't legal to begin with; just because someone is selling them it dosn't make it wrong for someone else to give them out for free. You have no problem downloading DJ mixes do you? It's not really any different.

If of the DJ's or producers are receicing royalties for this tape pack (or CD pack), then the above comment is not valid. Since there was a problem with this a few years back, it might actually be the case (especially if it's a CD pack) that they do now receive some royalties from event recordings. Before a few years ago though tape packs were a legal grey area.

I think the point is more that 'tape packs' are made by events/promotors to help fund further events.. to 'in theory' create better, safer environments for ravers to rave in.

thats the theory anyway.. reality is.. its not normally like that and the promotors keep all the profit and put it up there nose!! and the DJ's / MC's on the packs won't be financially compensated for their appearance..

the only real way to support your favourite dj is to buy his official albums.. see him/her DJ or buy his tunes..

and I think gone are the glory days of the 'tape pack' (1993-1995 - dreamscape.. kinetic.. vibealite.. helter skelter)

so lets get downloading!!

;-)

I wasn't aware that that was ever the plan, but either way yes, they do it in the least legitimate manner.

lol

i personally enjoy my CDs to be crowd free, but yea i agree shouldn't be a big deal since cd/tape packs don't compensate the performers in them, just the promoters

i never ever buy cd packs . why should i line the promoters pockets, all they did was record the sets. if the money went to the djs and mcs then i would. therefor i will carry on downloading the cd packs for now
