agree, I guess its ok all the mortals call electronic music as "techno", but if you are planning to become a producer, you have got to start using the right terminology, otherwise nobody is going to know what you are talking about

Yeah, it's so irritating! And if you try to explain to people that it's not called techno, but it's called dance, hardcore, whatever... they just look at you like you were nuts.

Yeah, I've given up on explaining what it is to people now, so just tend to tell people it's Fast Dance, which it is in a way.

I used to think  ...it aint Techno tho mate is it?

techno is a genre of Dance/Electronic music.
it would be the same as calling all rock music "country music" no matter what style of rock music it is.

I think the majority of people that call all electronica "techno" just aren't that familiar with the subgenre names? *shrug* Or it just isn't their favorite genre.
