What does everyone think is the best piece of music composed that they've heard?

Can be hardcore i guess... rock... orchestral... video game music...

To me, it's Banjo Kazooie soundtrack !!!

Those melodies and harmonies and chords and arrangement are nothing short of brilliant!

Cliche, but mine would probably be Pachelbel's Canon:

Edit: Also Force & Styles "Field of Dreams" is up there.

Lord of the Rings soundtrack is very good. so much so i might go watch it now.
Also good is the L4yer Cake soundtrack.

for individual song it would be
a) Pink Floyd - Shine on you Crazy Diamond or
b) Metallica - Call of Ktulu

Trying to stay away from the obvious classical. Id say....

Led Zeppelin - Stairway To Heaven

Masterpiece!

Money? Stairway to Heaven? These are great songs, but not the best piece of composed music, imo.

I'm a big fan of Moonlight Sonata by Mr. Beethoven. Although, Bach and Mozart never fail to impress.

As for what's totally blowing my mind right now, it's the new Squarepusher album. CRAZY!

Oh, I forgot to say...

Tiesto - Adagio For Strings LOLOLOLo!L!O!LOLO!LOL!OL!O!L!OLL!L!OL!OL!

Yeh but classical is the obvious choice, think outside the box, man!

Art of Life by X Japan. 34 minutes; 3 guitar solos, a 9 minute piano solo, the best lyrics I've ever heard, powerful story arcs... here's part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUhwNWzdIAc
