Ive PMed silver about this but havent received a reply, so does anyone else know if it would be possible for me to post a hardcore related announcement/news piece on the home/news page or can only certain people have something put on there?

He's on the IRC chat channel, so he's not really away, just busy.
Anyways, if the announcement is something that everyone/alot of people can use, I dont think there would be any problem getting it posted as Announcement/News

Yes (although technically moderators can add news, we arent allowed to). silver might be a bit busy until tomorrow. But you will probably get an answer after that...
