I have been making music on computer since I was 13 and have been practising and getting better ever since. I know Im good at it and really would love a record contract with a big Happy Hardcore label. Anyone know how I should go about doing this?
If you would like to listen to my songs, go to, Acidplanet.com then look for the artist "Sub State".

My frickin' problem is that I have great frickin' shit floating around in my head...but I can't do anything except throw pre-made samples together - I suck at anything else... What software should I be using??? (Besides Acid...)

If you want to make good music, you need good software. Cubase is probably the best PRO sequencer for the job as its quite easy to use. The only problem, is that it cost in excess of £400. I myself haven,t got my hands on this myself but that doesn,t stop me from making quality music.
I currently use Fruity Loops ( piss easy to use ) and a budget version of Cubase called Cubasis Go which costs £30 - £60 ( depending on whether you get normal version or deluxe ). I purchased Fruity Loops through a Magazine but you order it at www.Friutyloops.com. Cubasis can be bought in any Computer and electrical shop. (i.e.Currys, Game)

I already have fruityloops, (and don't worry how expensive the stuff is that you tell me...I'll get it somehow) but I find it piss HARD to make anything without it sounding either like crap, or being too simple...

Joy! Here's an example of one of the strange intros that grace my FruityLoops workstation, made just today. Don't laugh...

The intro itself was alright, I think its just the samples your using not the song itself. These are the samples that I use alot:
When loading a sample go into the file PACKS, then either into BASIC or VINTAGE. If your in basic, choose Kickdrum and the sample Kick#2. When this is loaded put the Amp about halfway to get a good Distort bassdrum. The samples in vintage are all from Roland 808 and 909 drum machines and are the same intruments used in many popular dance songs. The file USED BY SONGS has a lot of good samples also.

I may also need to change my name, as I have people who think I'm just misspelling Marine Corps, when actually I'm sorta playing a stupid pun and saying "marine corpse", as in dead body... Whatever, I'm strange...

You can listen to my newest Hardcore song (well, 28 seconds) on Music Discussion - Happy Hardcore. I used Cubase and FL. U 2 could produce things like it but u need patience, It took me nearly 2 hours a day (3 days) to complete the mix properly and it still hasen't been mastered yet.
Also my fruity loops has buggered up. I have version 3.3 and I bought a computer magazine with and upgrade for version 3.4. I installed it and didn't realise that it was a DEMO so now everytime I try to save my composition It says "the demo does not support the save function".
Can u help.
