Any of you guys listen to trance?
i record A State O f Trance with Armin Van Buuren every week then listen to it when im in a trance kind of mood...
the last couple of weeks have been a let down as its starting to sound like electro house (i hate electro house!)

the best trance album i think is brainstorm (mixed by mark e.g & sharkey)
sharkey disc is his usual stuff from 97-98
but mark e.gs disc is 97-98 hard trance. & its brilliant
if u havnt heard it u should check it out

I've heard good things about this.. i wanted 2 look on ebay for it but couldnt remember the name of it lol

Hard Fast and Furious was an ok compilation. Dunno if you can really call it trance - its sorta like hard techno with a hardcore mix as well lol.

About 99/2000 i started takin jills and at time to my naieve mind trance seemed like musiacal perfection.
Every time i go abroad or whatever now to big parties in europe trance just doesnt seem to have moved on at all, if anything jus got more cheesy and shit.
Like everything is odd great tune and i do like good trancy synths, but cant see how people can keep interested year after year with something so similar.

apart from me bring on sharkeys any day,even though theres a couple of decent songs on mark egs mix number 7 in particular,its easily the best song on the cd

I love trance. Sadly, not much that I like is coming out these days. There's still some great prog trance here and there, and IMO, the prog psy scene (Iboga Records, Xenon Recs, etc) is the last bastion of the oldschool-ish sound I love.
