most scams I've seen were based out of nigeria (forgot the other one off here was an ivory coast)...they've got the US as they're home, a japan email addy, and says they're from ivory coast =P

I normally would just ignore this kind of thing...
But after hearing only a couple months ago from my own mother that she too has fallen victim to this crime a couple years ago. She hasent yet told anyone but myself.
She came in contact with a couple of the criminals and even met with them before they tried to make the "transaction". They were all middle eastern. After finding a LARGE amount of money gone from her bank acount she called the police. Soon after she got a call from the FBI, asking her to give them any info she could. Whats funny is even after all that, one of the criminals calls her back asking if she wanted to sell her laptop to him (apparently she brought it with her when they met and he was interested). So she played along and setup a meeting, she then called the FBI, told them what was going down, and setup a whole sting operation. As soon as the guy came out of the cab to meet her, the FBI siezed him and took him away.
I now report everything I see to the FBI.
I hope every last one of those bastards gets caught, put in prison with a large inmate named bubba, and spend the rest of their miserable lives playing the bitch.
Sorry guys, had to vent. I too got the same PM and reading it while knowing my own mother fell victim to one of the same people sending me this message... pissed me off.
