I am going to buy some new headphones but dont know which ones. Please help me.

My budget is 100-150 uk pounds.

So far my i am considering:
Pioneer HDJ1000
Technics RPDJ210
Denon DNHP1000
Technics RDPH1200

I would be grateful of any opinions. The main features I am looking for are sound quality must be some where between 5hz-30khz and they must be built to last. I find I get through more headphones than anything else. So which headphones are virtually unbreakable?????

Any reason why HD-25's are not on the list?

All parts are replaceable on HD-25's so you will never have to buy another pair of headphones just replace any parts that break.

dont know really. the ones in the list are the ones i have seen in person and not just in pictures. what they like 2 use? handy if i can get all the parts. Are they strong or i am going to end up buying loads of parts?

I always find new ways to break head phones. I ve got the cable caught in my mixer which then some how got caught in my record case on the floor. I was a little mashed and didnt notice when walking away and bust some sony mdrv700s. My K'd up mate broke a pair whilst seeing how bendy they were!!
I ve stood on two pairs of cheap head phones. Another pair got broke in a fight between a mate and a random bloke who stormed in my house. I dont want to sound like a disaster zone its over 7yrs of mixing.

got any interesting/funny headphone disasters??

i use them headphones, nice crisp bass response

they are more like flexy plasitic, instead of the stuff used on other phones so they are more durable. not really pleasing on the eye but your daft if you buy headphones jsut cause they look good, or dont buy them cause they look crap

i once used the the end of my headphone cable to try and open a fuse on a plug... and it snapped lol! new cable for me, good job they had replaceable cables, else if of been forking out £120 for another pair

thanks guys. been checking them out at their website. they seem like a good bet. i never realised or had seen them advertised as all parts fully replaceable. its not even mentioned in all the details at stennheiser.co.uk. strange would have thought that was a good selling point.

i well be ordering next week when i get paid. they go to top of list

Interesting....

so are the HD-25sp's just as good? They are about half the price and look dang similar. Do you know if they also have replaceable parts?

I don't like the sp's, feel cheap...I guess that's why they cost less =P I also found it annoying that they have a wire running from each cup.

I really like the technic rdp1200 and sennheiser hd25...sennheiser make some nice headphones with mics on them...trying to get one to mod for gaming =P

Nobody ever suggests or buys the Stanton DJ Pro 3000s. My mate who has Pioneer 1000s said that mine feel better and sound better. They're probably the most comfortable headphones i've ever worn. They're also very sturdy unlike the cheap and light pioneers.

Never tried HD-25s but from reports they seem awesome.

I see you've already ordered but anyway... These headphones are great wouldn't swap them for anything. Have had mine for four years now, they've been used and abused at parties and free raves down hear on a regular basis and they are as perfect as the day I got them.

Good decision as far as the headphones are concerned.
They are one of the best purchases I've ever made.
You won't regret buying them at all.

lol holy shit...you need to hide your stuff from your freinds! :D

Pairs ive owned: Sony MDR600, MDR700, Senheisser HD-25. The Senns hands-down are the best performing and cleanest sounding of the bunch. You will not be dissapointed.

Bulby, the only reason i came to the site was to do a search regarding the Technics RPDJ1200's. And since you like em, im buying em today or tomorrow. For recording in studio the Senns smack all competitors but i have a gig coming up and i happen to like the swivel cups (my damn Sony's 700 BROKE!)for ease and comfort.

Good luck with your purchase Original Poster (forgot your name)
