See if you can find someone who will give you a RNS file of a tune they've made. If not, you could look at some of the demo songs to see what they look like in the sequencer.

Some general tips:
* Always start off with a mixer - if you don't, you'll only be able to have one instrument!

* Better yet start off with two or more mixers - one for drums, the other for everything else

* Load up redrum with a drum patch and connect it's outputs to the drums mixer. You can then use redrum to create patterns, or you can sequence them yourself with the piano roll.

* Sequencing is much easier with a MIDI keyboard (if you play keyboard that is).

* Make use of the loop functions for coming up with ideas - for example you can put down a basic 4-to-the-floor beat, loop it over 8 or 16 bars while you come up with a bassline

* Combinator patches (Reason 3.0) are really cool. You can come up with a whole arrangement of instruments/effects and then save it as one 'item'.

that's how I've learned to use all the programs I've used so far, look at the demos and go from there...don't need to stickin' instruction manual =P
