Hmm that's a strange one. There is a little bug on FL6 (if that's the version your using?), sometimes the time stretch function automatically adjusts itself when you drop samples in, it doesn't stop them from playing but they're stretched out so far you can't hear them over the track... Try pulling that back to 0. Other than that I can't think of anything other than the obvious things like volume and making sure you have it set in the right part of the track etc. I suppose it could be down to frequencies. Does it work when you just play pattern instead of track? If so it's possible you are over crowding the frequency it needs space in so it's not coming through, if that was the case though I would have thought you would be able to hear it quietly at least.

To speed up/slow down the track hit record and slide the speed up and down, once you've down this you can go into something and alter the last automation more directly but without looking at FL (don't have it on this computer) I can't give more specific information, soz. If someone else doesn't help I'll have a look when I get the chance :).

theres 2 main ways of bringing samples into FL, one is to add a sampler, same you would do if u were addiding extra drum samples, then use the piano roll with a note on C5 for the duration of the sample.

if u do this, u can also use the piano rolls pitch bending notes to alter the pitch of just the same as u like.

u can also load samples as "audio clips" to place these into the mix u have to go into the playlist, and then look to the bottom where the seperate section is for automation/audio clips, just click and the last clip u created will apear, and u can adjust its position rather easily too.

as for changing speed/pitch globaly, u simple have to create a NEW pattern and in that pattern right click on either tempo or pitch (maybe do it on both) and choose edit events then u can draw a graph like line wich would be the change over time, right click and drage lets u draw straight lines

hope something of that helps
