I am using goldwave at the minute to record my mixes but i can not find the equliaser on it because its very poor sound quality once recorded. So is there any other programs people use to record mixes because if there is can you let me know please because my sound quality is rubbish and i dont even dare put them on the net with that quality .

The sound quality is unlikely to be down to Goldwave. Whatever you record should sound the same if you record it into Goldwave or Soundforge (Sony's high end audio editor). As long as you have the file settings set to at least 44.1kHz, 16bit you should be able to get a good sound. If not its down to hardware. Either bad settings coming from your mixer, poor cables, or a cheap and nasty soundcard (or quite often down to poor gain structure!). A quick check would be pull the cable out of yor PC and plug it into your hi fi. Compare this to a CD played on the same machine. How does it compare? Quiet? Hissy? Too loud? If its the first or third of those then its a gain structure issue. If its the second then it could be cables, it could be something on your mixer. Theres so many possible outcomes, so just try it and let us know what you hear.

i think its a crap sound card which could be the problem, its not the cables because they were very dare and cost me a bomb really for a cable but its a standard soundcard on a dell computer so i reckon its that because its a microphone input as well.

Doesn't your sound card have a line in?
