I use Reason 3 and I love it, I also use Cubase SL, But not very often. I'd use it more if I had loads of vst's but I ain't, So I just make do with what I have got.

BTW, I paid for all of mine, and with how much use and fun I have had out of Reason, I don't regret it.

My thoughts exactly :) I've probably used all my production software a hell of a lot more than any games console or anything like that. Besides if no one buys the things they wont have the money to keep updating them.

My favourite bit of software that I use is Adobe Audition, but my main sequencer is Nuendo. My favourite soft synth (at the moment) is Linplug Cronox 3, and my favourite sampler is HALion 2.

I use Logic on the PC (so thats version 4.5 then heh). Haven't had chance to try the latest versions which are Mac only (the swines!). I prefer Logic over Cubase, just down to the fact I find the interface more intuitive. I was actually brought up on Cubasis (Cubase's little brother) and then used Cubase at school a few times, but I defo prefer Logic...... the routing capabilities are fantastic - check out the environment settings in Logic - you can do anything in it! BTW, the screenshot above is actually an instrument within Logic. Its not one I've ever seen before so I'm guesing its a Logic 7 only one..... either that or a VST. It doesn't really show you what the main bits in Logic are like.

Other Software..... Soundforge is my Audio Editor of choice.... I probably use this the most for chopping stuff up and playing with it before dumping it into Logic.

I'm trying to have a play round with Reason at the moment with a view to switching to it from Logic. Must confess I'm not over enamoured with the sequencer part of it, but I like the idea of limiting myself to just those instruments etc, and again the routing posibilities are endless.

I may end up running Reason with Logic as a front end for it, but we'll see how the cpu holds out on that one.

As far as i've read about piracy on other forums, the pro's always pay for the software they use. The scene aint that big and to get new better software people have to pay for the stuff they use. The 15 year old's that say they have like 4 diffrent programs that each cost ~400€ eventhough they know nothing about producing, most likely dont pay :p
