I don't believe in talent, mate... the minimum requirement is a reasonable taste in music (i.e. you don't need to be told what you like, you just know). The satisfaction guarantee is offered for a reason!

Nice one....... and by the way...... check out what these guys had to say:
(taken from http://www.hattrixx.co.uk/showpage.asp?pID=-1745846509)

"Live This Way has been played out a few times and has had a fantastic response from the crowd! The talents of Hattrixx are just mind blowing, from his musical knowledge to his pianist's skills. This was the most enlightening experience we have had musically and we will definatly be back to make another tune!"

"Owen is an engineer / producer that works with integrity, patience and a great enthusiasm for music. I've known him for nearly five years, and throughout he has guided me as a writer and engineer. The fact that I am willing to travel from Glasgow to record emphasises this. Not only a good engineer, he has a clear insight of the business and because of him my first track ("Brazdissk") got rinsed at loads of events in 2004 and signed to a quality label. If you are an aspiring songwriter or producer his expertise will certainly point you in the right direction, and his studio time is very reasonably priced."

"Taking the step from producing at home and entering the realm of an engineer can be quite daunting. I had spoken to various engineers in the Hardcore genre for quite some time before taking the step to booking a session with Owen. Unlike 60% of the people I spoke to, Owen immediately came across as professional and knowledgeable. Owen took an interest in my work and myself as a person. Prior to our meeting I sent him examples of my work and we discussed tech issues and goals for our session. He advised me steps to take to get the most out of our sessions. Bearing in mind NO money had yet crossed paths and no official date had been set, which says a lot about Owen as a person. Upon meeting Owen and arriving at his studio I was made welcome. I already had the main aspects of "Elation" written and step-by-step we discussed how to enhance what we had. Time was taken, Owen is very much a teacher as well as an engineer. I made copious notes and he took time to go over parts with me to establish we were both happy with the track's direction. The experience as a whole was very rewarding. Not once was I belittled or made to feel inferior. Owen has a great respect for people and their music. I would highly recommend a studio session with Hattrixx. I found I came away with more information in 1 day than I would get from weeks of reading books and magazines. But most of all I was happy with my day, happy with what we did to the track and I felt it was money well spent. I now class Owen as a very good friend and we speak often. He is always willing to help and give advice. I am currently working on a joint project with DJ Breaks at Owen's studio and I will be using Owen again. Elation has been released on Ravin Phantasy Records 001 as the A Side, the proudest moment of my musical career to date!"

"I was recommended to use Hattrixx by another DJ about 12 months ago, didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised to find someone a lot younger than myself with extensive knowledge of the early years of Hardcore! The atmosphere in the studio is extremely relaxed, and it's always good to work with someone that makes you feel like the place is your own. I have learnt more about music with Hattrixx than with anyone else I have used and feel I am able to give a lot more input into making the music than before because of what I have learnt. The tracks done in the studio have kept getting better, the last track we done was the best and I think that's because it has taken time to understand exactly what I wanted and how to get the most from what is available. Owen always makes you think about what gets put on the track and will push you to your limits, this is something that no other engineer has done and I think this forces you to be creative and will also make you learn more about what is going on! From using the Hattrixx studio I not only got some great tracks and knowledge about how they are made but also ended up with a great friend."

"What can I say about Owen / Hattrixx? Working with him was a truly inspiring experience and helped take my production to the next level (and well beyond). He came highly recommended to me from a few different people and after flying across the ocean and staying on a tight budget, I would tell anyone I know that it is time and money well spent! Owen was incredibly easy to work with, laid back, and willing to teach the technical side of what he was doing too (bring something to take notes!). He created a very comfortable environment to work in as well, which is critical for any kind of artistic expression, and also surrounded you with top of the line gear to help bring that all out. Owen was very accommodating with time arrangements and constraints too, and most of all continued to work and help well after our session and beyond just that track. He's a busy guy, but has always made time to lend an ear. He was also an amazing listener in studio (and very flexible), which helps make what you want, and not what someone else thinks is right. One big thing I should point out was that he engineered my first track "Pull It", and since Owen was already well established in the community, he knew who to pass along the track to and helped me get it signed much faster than I ever would have on my own. He also set me on the right path with how to set up a proper studio as far as software and equipment goes.
So to sum it all up (and for those of you who skipped all that, just read this): I walked in there meeting a seemingly random guy in the UK, and walked out of there with an experience, a professionally produced track, a mentor, and a friend that has lasted well beyond a 10 hour session and a few thousand miles of distance."

"I came across Owen's website by complete accident while surfing on eBay. I read about his Ultimate Dance Piano, which led me to his site. On reading what he offered with his studio time I decided to give him a call, as I had wanted to get back into the studio after a long break. Because I already engineer I wanted to chat with him about his knowledge and what he offered in the studio. It soon became apparent to me that he really knew what he was talking about and an engineer who I could trust to provide me with the high quality mixdowns and sound that I require. Getting back into the studio was a great experience for me. As I hadn't done any music for a while for personal reasons I thought I would be a bit rusty, but I went prepared with a set of ideas and an arrangement that I had done in my studio. Owen was excellent, I had asked him to arrange a vocalist for me which he did. The vocalist was Kelly C. Both of them brought all my ideas to life with extremely high quality sound which quickly led to me signing the track entitled "Tonight" to Definitive Dance. After this experience I decided that I was going to take full advantage of Owen's discount scheme. I now visit the studio at least once a month and Owen and myself have become good friends, we seem to just click in the studio. His discount scheme is great for me because it works out a lot cheaper than paying for single sessions and if I want to go in more than once in any given month it works out even cheaper. Another great thing is, if for instance I can't make a session for some reason then I can always sell the studio time to someone else. Owen is easy to work with i.e. he makes you feel comfortable and will speak up if he thinks something really wont work, but ultimately would never stop you doing it, if you really wanted to.
So to sum up, what Owen offers is:

A vastly experienced engineer with great musical knowledge
Top class studio gear, which is used to it's full potential
Friendly and comfortable atmosphere
He also does top notch Sample CDs to your exact specifications, and not forgetting his excellent Ultimate Dance Piano, which led me to his site in the first place."

"I knew Owen (Hattrixx) vaguely before we started working together in his studio. I'd always appreciated his musical background and skills, but being a newcomer to producing was quite weary by the fact he had such a good knowledge at such a young age. I was almost intimidated because I had used a few different studios and engineers on my learning curve with some discontent. Although these experiences weren't bad I didn't consider them to be good and I had tarred all engineers with the same brush (perhaps wrongly). A mutual friend encouraged me to use Hattrixx, it turned out to be one of the best musical decisions I ever made.

When I entered Owen's I was greeted as a friend. Hospitality isn't something that affects musical output but a good karma does, and that is exactly what Owen instilled in me. As the first session progressed I found that I wasn't at all worried about humming a riff / bassline or asking questions like I was at previous studios. This is what I believe has helped my musical knowledge expand. Owen explained numerous techniques and methods to me whilst applying the technique to the track we were working on, giving me real hands-on experience and also the realization why some ideas wouldn't work in a track or why a slightly different idea would be so much better. This was a lot more refreshing than the rather blunt 'No that won't work' I was used to getting. The fact that my own ideas reflect the style of music I want to make I feel it's important for any producer to develop their own sound and ideas. My previous tracks all seemed to sound extremely different. Perhaps I was finding my 'sound'?, perhaps the engineer didn't interpret my ideas correctly?, perhaps I didn't give enough input? Owen took the time to listen to me until he could understand my aims and goals for a track and then implement the ideas to work in the said track. It was this approach from Owen that gave me the confidence to continue our sessions and bring arrangements and previous works in various styles from home to get help with in the studio. This confidence lead to me arriving one day at the studio with my own vocalist. I had never recorded vocals before that day, nor had my vocalist, and Owen had never met her. Couple that with horror stories I'd been told about badly recorded vocals, moody singers and the intense encouragement and emotional support vocalists require and I was very worried about wasting my money and time in the studio. I'm not sure if Owen was aware of my insecurities but the man did everything to accommodate us both during that session and I believe he got the best out of the vocalist. She was extremely re-assured as was I. The end result could not of been better and is in a lot of ways the best track I've done with Owen and was by far the most exciting as it opened my eyes to the potential of our future works.

A few potential customers out there may be worried as to what you'll achieve by using Owen as an engineer. Personally I wouldn't have achieved a lot of the things I have if it hadn't of been for Owen. The guy has taught me so much in the space of two years I can't even begin to list it. The most re-assuring for me is the fact that the feedback I am getting from tracks is getting better all the time. Proven by the fact that a few tunes we have created have been aired in clubs and on the radio, an achievement I doubt that I would have gotten this soon had it not been for Owen.

So there you go. My opinion of a friend, teacher and engineer who will never be too busy to help anyone!"

"I've been a monthly Hattrixx client for several months now. As soon as I saw he had begun advertising special discount offers for regular clients I leapt at the opportunity. I had been a client on a few previous occasions and had also hired Hattrixx to engineer two tracks on the first EP on my record label "Coriolis Effect". With my past studio experience with Hattrixx I knew that this was an offer not to be passed up, in every session before then and ever since I have continued to expand my skills & knowledge (in writing, producing and engineering) at a rate that far exceeded the learning curve I was going through when I was attempting a "trial-and-error" approach to music.

I initially began just making tracks and picking up on little bits of knowledge here & there along the way but I have since begun to really feel a hunger for knowledge when it comes to the creation of music and in the last few sessions I have put a stronger emphasis on learning in more detail the processes and theory of synthesis, EQing, chord progressions, song structure & much, much more.

I wasn't unhappy with the results of my tracks beforehand but I always used to feel like a drunk desperately trying to get in his front door by fumbling about and HOPING I get the key in the lock before I finally get in and pass out on the floor in a drunken mess.

The same situation was happening to me with my music (albeit with less vomit). I had been making my tracks by fumbling about until I finally got something together that sounded good. This was a tortuously long and painful process and since I began to gain more knowledge from my sessions with Hattrixx, I've felt more able than ever to create what I want, with more ease and confidence, which has sped up the time and effectiveness of my music creation considerably."
