When you try to move a note in the piano roll it seems to alter the length instead, anyone know how to fix it? Cheers.

It seems to happen with the pencil as well for me. Is a real pain in the arse isn't it, makes a quick job take that much longer.

Ive noticed if you hold shift or control and move your mouse in piano role, it changes the volume, pan or whatever is selected or changes the note length depending which note is closest to the mouse cursor. I've not had this problem yet as I have only used the pencil tool upto now. I noticed on fruity five I used to try to shorten the length of a note and it would just go twice the length. Is this the same problem?

No not exactly. If you try to reposition a note it just alters the length and doesn't move. Also things aren't snapping in the piano roll (just the piano roll).

Yeah worth a try I'll have a look at the site and send them a message. May just be that I've switched something by mistake... I'm sure it wasn't doing it at first.

Cheers.

You need to set the 'Snap' to Line, or anything else but none :) In Fruity 5 onwards it's set to 'None' by default.

The problem here can be solved the same way as bulby's, just set the 'Snap' to the relevant value :)

Yeah i get the same problem as well, its definately not the Snap function.

It just seems to come outv nowhere, and i find it usually reverts back to normal after i turn FL6 off for a while or reboot.

I think its a glitch in the program itself cause ive virtually gone through all the functions in the piano roll.

Yeah unfortunately that doesn't solve the snap problem either though :( I know it would usually yeah.

Elastic i'm gonna send FL a message about it so I'll let you know what they say :)

Found the solution ppl

"ctrl + caps lock" turns this function on and off.

Its useful i guess if u want to lay 2 notes next to each other which doesnt land on the snapgrid.......Allows you to resize the note from the left end.

*Edit

We must be turning this on accidentally when we're goin 'ctrl + all' lol.

This could be awesome to give things a outter time effect when winding down into a breakdown or soemthing ; )
