can anyone suggest some good ~20 second samplers?

hmm.. are you referring to a small phrase sampler to play alongside your decks??
if so there are 2 which stand out...
the sp303 and the Su200...
with these, you can actually get a memory card which will increase your sample time...
these are smal, cheap and have some great effects..
however i would strongly suggest to save up a lil (if u can wait :) ) and grab yourself an SU700 or an SP808 or SP505....
I would push the Yam before anything else first thou.. as its features and realtime control blow the others away.
