Thats what I have, http://www.dv247.com/invt/4605?source=google&campaign=uk&ad=4605 M-Audio delta 66, It's done me good and touch wood, no problems, Driver is rock solid. Plus I like having 4 outputs, I have a pair to my monitors for production and the other pair to my stereo for general music listening. Mull, don't worry about a driver, It's just the software the soundcard needs to comunicate with your computer, and it will come on disk with the soundcard.

Recently i purchased the Creative Labs SoundBlaster X-FI Platinum, and let me tell you, its quite nice. Just when i thought it couldnt get any better than my old Audigy II Platinum it did, its like $200 but you can find it cheaper if you shop online

Definetely get the M-Audio Audiophile 2496 then in that case. Your mixer won't have balanced outputs, so you don't need balanced inputs on your soundcard.... plus the 2496 has phono ins and outs, saving any hassle with exotic cables.
I usually either make my own cables, or buy off the shelf from maplin. they do some quite nice ohonos in various lengths for about £10-£20.

fair play then, yes they are indeed balanced.... I tend to make my own XLR-XLR or XLR-TRS cables (all the components can be bought at maplin) you can perhaps buy ready made cables there, or else try one of the larger music stores like Turnkey, Sound Control or Digital Village
