I don't see anything about Ableton on there, only Traktor and similar programs. Ableton Live is a sequencing program, isn't it? I mean, as opposed to a program meant specifically for mixing tunes together.
If you're looking for a good Ableton controller, check out http://www.m-audio.com/trigger.

I see. I haven't used it myself. I have caught Sasha a few time since he started using it exclusively, and it seems to be the bizness.

Does LIVE have a midi learn function? If it does you could use that really easy by selecting the control and then selecting learn from midi, move a controller and it will be mapped to it.

Ok, Having midi learn is not that that important, It wont stop you from using that mid controller or any other midi controller to control somthing in LIVE. It just makes things alot quicker.
First off you should check that the buttons, knobs, sliders, whatever you want to control in LIVE can be mapped to a controller, (I'll assume what you need can be as it wouldn't be very practical if it didn't).
Then you would need to go about mapping (assigning, some call it either) a controller to somthing in LIVE. Not having it I dont know how it's done, you'll have to read the manual. This would be where Midi Learn would come in. By having that checked or set to on, when you select a control in LIVE all you would need to do is move the control or press the button you want on the midi controller and click OK and your done.
Otherwise you would need to go into the settings of the midi controller, and assign the knobs and buttons to whatever the Midi CC numbers are for what you want to control in LIVE. You would have to look at the midi implementation charts for that.
That controller will work with LIVE, how quick and easy it will be to get working depends on weather LIVE has Midi Learn or not.
You would be best off looking for a controller that LIVE supports as standard or one that comes with templates for LIVE.
Hope that helps you out.
