hi
i'm looking into buying recycle 2.1 to go with my reason 2.5. I know that recycle can be used to slice loops into individual samples, but can you load vocals into it and divide them up into individual word slices, any ideas?

To answer your question:
Yes.
Pretty much recycle creates Rex files which go into any of Reason's samplers. Importing a vocal into recycle and then chucking it into Reason, and playing with it is very do-able.

I'm not really into sampling beats so would it be worth getting just for the purposes of vocal loop slicing. Or can this be done another way without using recycle, I have the audacity audio editor software, would this be of any use?

well pretty much yeah.
You just have to cut up your vocals and chuck them into the NN19 or even the NNXT.
Very easy. Kinda tedious to do it with a sample editor, which is why I prefer to use recycle.
