Said it before but thought I would mention it here too:
To help reduce spam, just dont let any of the posts in the General Discussion board count towards your post count. It helps reduce the amount of pointless posts to try and raise your post count and encourages people to post outside of the general board. Then the post count can really show who is making a real contribution.
I used to admin a forum and thats what I did, helped alot. Just an idea for you guys.

No it doesnt, the post count has nothing to do with spam. If there was no post count youd still have members talking shite.

In theory it may help but whats to stop said members flooding the hardcore discussion board with pointless topics?

Exactly the post count has nothing got to do with spam imo, ok maybe theres a few members that post shite to increase their post count but overall
it wont improve anything.
