Look out for the Package Deals, especially the Citronic range -
You light up another cigarette
And I pour the wine
It's four o'clock
In the morning
And it's starting
To get light

just buy 12s, if you enjoy spinning you might as well buy them now instead of having to save up and sell the old ones...

I agree with brian K Just get your self some technics 1200's now and save your self the headache of wanting them later down the road cause you will ;) Also if you do have techs, the resell value drops from the original price very lil, so if you dont like spining you wont loose that much $$$. Which is also nice.

Yes they do cost a pretty penny, but well worth every cent in my opinion

If you cant afford them i would recommend something from stanton or citronic. Exellent for the price. Stanton make a belt drive deck you can scratch on!!!

my old decks were citronic, they were 13 years old and had the most awful pitch ever,it was just a little knob like the on and off switch that technics have, rotary instead of a slider. but they were the most stable belt drive decks i've ever come across,no good for scratching though

So I'm gonna throw this one out their surely someone knows, Silver does for sure, but here in Japan everything operates at like 110volts. Luckily when I plugged in my reciever it didnt blow up since I had it set to 210, luckily I wasnt in the UK. But I know the 1210's run usally with UK power, so would 1200's operate here, or does it require an adaptor, I'd hate to be using my decks without enough power. Any thought?

I *think* SL1200's are dual voltage.

the cheapest startup pack ive seen is a Kam 1 for 200 quid. The cheapest direct ive seen is Numark for 350. I would recommend spending about 500 quid for starter decks, buyin technics straight away is cheating [:P]
