i actually wanted to go about this too so i could have a HC ring tone. You can get Wav to MIDI converters, although the ones i found were a little pony and sounded crap. Otherwise try the link below

You can make midi files with Fruityloops, Cubase etc. You do need to know how to make music already though to make something good :P
