right!!! i have drove myself crazy over the idea of producing for over 6 months now and i really cant take it any more!! i need to start producing!!!

i have posted once or twice asking whats what in the producing world and got a few different responses.

to the best of my knowlage, programs such as acid pro and mixcraft; which i already own; are limited to being where all the different beats, samples, vocals etc come together and are perfected.

this is great as theres nothing more importan to decent hardcore tunes than good timing....BUT I HAVE NOTHING TO TIME!!!

i hav the money siting to buy a decent midi keyboard and mixer, but cannot comprehend where all the sounds beats etc are to come from??

the closest i came was in watching the video of reason and the downloading the demo....i understand that banks of synth sounds, beats and all other material are avalable for this...and so wonder if this is my best option or not???

or if there are any other such programs with vast banks avalable to be used with keyboards...etc

i basicly jst need to no how its done....i am aware that there are a million different ways to make music electronically...but please...any suggestions to how its made 'easier' would be more than welcomed...im really struggling now,and its pretty frustrating,as some of the stuff people post up here saying its their first track...its really great stuff...and i too desperately want to give it a bash.

thanks to any1 at all who has a suggestion at all and can help!!

zippy

yo wassup.

basically u will need a sequencer first ( reason 2.5, cubase sx) i would recommend cubase first because it will save u money because u will need to upgrade to it eventually if ur serious so u might as well buy it, and the sound quality is a million times better then reasons muddy sound.

midi keyboard is not that important but u can get 1 for $100 i been producing for over around 2 years and i just got 1 a keystation pro 88.

basically the soundbank cd's are useless because u cant use them in your tracks unless you pay royalties which is money to use them. so u are basically better off making your own sounds, therefore going straight to cubase. bbut i might be 2 difficult, i would recommend u go and take a class at ur local college on cubase sx.

and then get vsts to use and your ready to go.

as far as making sounds, finding drum samples of kicks and hits is a great way to get started. i'd recommend doru malia (i think that is how you spell his name) he puts a lot of royalty free samples of drums online. also snag a vst or two for your bass and synths and tweak presets, start learning what will do what to your sound. most of production is just tweaking and tuning to make it what you want
