just mess around with chords and listen to other hardcore tracks
common sounds used are pianos, strings, synth leads e.t.c I've had reason for 6 months and my productions are getting better all the time, just try and be creative, and original

try having a listen to some tracks (not your own, thats that are out) that you are feeling at the moment, take note of what sorts of sounds are used and when they come in, then try doing something with the same 'vibe'. You know... try and fill up the frequency ranges to get it nice and heavy, hjave your beats, yer bassline underneath, try adding some pad chords in the higher end of the spectrum with some wicked stabs going sort of mid-range. dont copy the tunes but try and use the same 'rules' that they follow (I know there are no rules in production but this will help you get to know what needs to be in a track, see what goes well together you know). hope that was helpful not utter bollox! peace.

All good advice...
Why not just sit infront of a keyboard and let your fingers/imagination do some work..........set your seqencer to record and play away...chop up, move around notes, lenght'en, shorten notes, turn the arpeggio on see what happens etc etc
Have a mix on the decks or when you been out clubbing and have 'all sorts of songs in ya head' and then bash away

is there a specific way you create your tracks?
Perhaps first the vocal, to be sure that the melody you create sounds well to it... or just the melody and then vocals that fits to it? or the beat first?
how do YOU do it?
