Wow, I have just been to the Propellerheads website where I've just been reading about reason 3. http://www.propellerheads.se/

The new features look Fat, propper Fat. There's 4 mastering effects, which has a compresser with side-chain (Just what I've been needing), A 4 band parametric EQ, A maximizer, And a stereo imager (Which will be great). They all look amazing and are just what reason needs.

Theres also a new device called a Combinator, For layering sounds and building FX's chains, Can't wait to get my hands on it.

And a few other less important things have been added, but they'r deffinetly needed. But no new synths though, I was hoping for new fat synth. Looks like I'll just have to build one using the combinator.

Its in beta testing now and I've just signed up to be on the waiting list for it. reason users get over there now and put ur name down.

What reason really needs is VST support. That is one of the main reasons why I do not use it. If it gets it I will buy it.

I don't think you can call reason a wast cos' it has no vst support. It would be nice to have, but its not a big deal for me. I love reason cos it uses so little power, I can have a shed load of synths and still have room to have a low latency.

I gotta admit the limitations on reason to the internal stuff is not so bad, you can squeeze more out of what you have without having 1 million VSTs... I think Reason is a great product for the price and well worth it.

Despite the features and the limitless possibilities, Reason's layout is very messy compared to DP4 and Pro Tools. Needs to be revised.

The limitations in Reason are what makes it so good IMO. You can just get down to writing cracking tracks instead of faffing about over which of your 254 compressors would do the job best on your kick drum.

reason can be useful, but no vst support is not a big problem at all.

if ur serious bout makin beats then u most likey have a vst sequencer.

but reason can be used to export wav files and then put into ur vst sequencer.

apollo what do u use?

It does look phatter, and I am most definiatley getting it once its available.

VSTs in reason will only stuff you up. You just need to think outside of the box and layer stuff! Honestly. Reason is so damn powerful, so much so that I think the people that whinge about its lack of phattness just dont know how to use it properly or have not heard the right artist
