looks good - but its going to feel like plastic and the faders will be very noisey (CLICK CLICK CLICK) and probably die after a short whiles use.
dont trust cheep numark mixers.
but if your just starting out im sure it will be fine.

don't like transform buttons, they tend to bleed after awhile.
i personally like hearing my fader click but to each his own. it helped me out a lot when I first started scratching, especially for crabs...that sounded bad =P

I have this mixer. Its alright for starting when i bought it i was after a vestax but it had been discontinued so got this one. Its lasted longer than one of my TT200 decks which is just about to be sent back to numark as the motors gone after 6 months.

yes you should at least double your money if your serious about mixing get one that will last it will save you money in the long run.

I bought a Citronic MSX1 for £189 nearly 4 years ago, exelent little mixer, the crossfader is now getting quite nosiy, probabally to be expected after 4 years. But you can replace the crossfader for about £35 I think which I'm gonna be doing soon. It looks really easy to change though. My friend used mine and loved it so he bought an MSX2 for £229 12 month ago. The only difference is the beat conters, which don't work on either model anyway. They might be OK for slower stuff but not hhc or d+b(which is what I play). Beat conters could be usefull if its so noisey you can't hear your headphones, but you don't need them really.

i wouldn't recommend that x700 mixer. hardly has any effects on it and everything is compact.
i'd go with something from either vestax, stanton, or my personal fav.; the tascam xs-8
what mixer do you currently have? how long have you been mixing and what kind of things would you like to do with your mixing?

i had the numark EM-260 (with the kaoss pad built in)
it was a stupid amount of fun, after a while you find that you dont use the effects that much though, for the first month its great fun, playing with them every 3 seconds, and then you gradually find out your over-doing it, you slowly stop using them. danger of over-doing it is the biggest problem when it comes to effect mixers.
