I'm what you'd call an "Armchair DJ." I just want to mess around and put some of my favorite MP3 tracks into a mix. But which software is best to use?

I got a copy of Nero Soundtrax off of a friend, but when I crossfade tracks and use their (crappy) tempo match function, the beats still don't match up and song transistions sound terrible. So what is a program that can help me easily crossfade tracks and make it sound good?

mp3 mixing sounds like ass in general. unless you have a really high bit rate but even still you can tell when things are mixed on a computer; just doesn't sound right

Traktor is the best but you best by your tracks because if you get any good and what to play out you wont get a gig playing illegal mp3s.

No worries, this stuff is just for my personal use, like personally mixed CDs for the car and stuff.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
