I am thinking about getting a pair of these. First off, I ave heard from anyone who has had them, that they love them. I was windering what this community thought about them.

In my expierence in scratching on them, they only start to sound digital when you really rip into them. Honestly, it took me a while to get that sound anyway. But I wont be doing any Sy style scratching, but I might mess around a bit with a hip hop track. Brian, I am going to send you a PM as well.

I didn't say you couldn't scratch on them, just that the scratching on it sounds like a 16kb/s RealPlayer streaming file =P

I also don't understand the purpose of having a spinning platter on a cdj.

I would either go with denon or numark.

Tried all three of them, and I still prefer the DZ's I think the spinning platter is an amazing idea. I just want to know what the major down sides are of them.

there isn't a whole lot of major disadvantages to it other than:

you can’t edit loops.
not as many features as other decks.
the pitch lock feature does not really work well, since it allows the track to skip and the bpm will change.
a much better optimised & revised MK2 is probably on its way.
also I don't like the pitch control on it, feels cheap.
