i want to produce a track that uses the melody off another famous trance classic, i was wondering what i would have to do in order to get permission to use this sample, in order to avoid getting sued etc. any help wud b great. i'd rather not say the tune involved here case sum 1 steals my idea :-). but this tune is jus screamin out for a hardcore remix

if you're wanting to make money off of the track contact the person who originally produced it and ask if you can sample them. chances are they probably stole the idea off of someone else =P
or you can put the tune out anonomously, or you could also just filter and chop up the original so no one can tell what it is.

...Or you could just rewrite the melody.

if i put out the tune out anonomously would i still be able to make money from it? I think i'll be best off altering the melody slightly so i can put it out under my own name
