Right, im gonna b buying my first set of decks in a couple of weeks n need sum advice. Iv got about £600/700 but only want to spend about 500 on decks (i need2buy choooooooooons).
So i was wundering, should I a) spend about £300 on lower range decks to see if i can get the hang of it n 2 c if its sumthing i really wanna pursue or
b) spend about 500 on sum more middle range type decks.

My problem is that if i do like DJing then i will wanna upgrade to techs or TTX1's so i dnt c the point in spending an extra 200 if im gonna upgrade. Also, if i decide that DJing isnt for me and i go for the £500 decks, thats £200 extra wasted.

Could i plz hav sum feedback!!

I don't DJ myself but from what I've observed I would definitely advise going for the best decks you can get (preferably the ttx-1's or 1200 technics). Reason being, if you get crappy decks, they'll have no resale value and you'll be selling them back for a lot less than you paid for them. 1200's, ttx-1's and the like have a very high resale value in case you ever want to sell them for whatever reason. Worry about the vinyl later, It'll save you more money in the long run

You know, you can get a pair of Tech's or TTX's on eBay... I keep seeing BRAND NEW TTX's for around 600$ for a pair! And entire Tech Sets, meaning 2 techs and a good mixer and mabey a Grundorf or Flight Case, selling for mabey 200$ more. CHECK OUT EBAY! Its the only way, I swear, for a beginning DJ to get into the game. And I know all of you are going to say: Well what if you get decks that dont spin perfect? Well lets see, its better than some belt drive Gemini, right? And thats the most negative spin I can put on it. Just ask a lot of questions and make sure that you get BIG pics of the product. I bought my stuff, works great, no qualms. At all.

don't buy cheap decks, you'll kick yourself in the arse later for it.

most people I've seen buy cheap decks to begin w/ usually wind up spending more money down the line because they usually wind buying a set of 12's =P

I have TTX-1s which are in my opinion the best decks around at the moment but you say you don't have the cash for a top of the line so then I would go for these

Numark TT-200s
A pair for 365 quid from www.djstore.com
which also leaves you with over half of your money left!!!
My m8 has these and there are ****ing amazing for the price your paying perfect for scratching as well!!

DETAILS
Before we go any further - here's the important point - this both looks and feels AMAZING. Based on its ultra sexy big brother (Numark TTX), the TT200 Direct Drive deck really shows what you should expect from current turntable design. It includes all the features you should expect from a turntable in this price range - removable leads, replaceable target light, etc, and comes complete with both straight and s-shaped tone arms. The layout of the main controls mean you can operate this deck in either the standard "mixing" position - or turn it 90 degrees for the "battle" position.

All that aside - here's the killer. This deck has the same quoted torque as Technics 1200/1210 - and from our testing here at dj store they are just as stable as Technics - and probably even more hardwearing. This is where the smart money goes this year.

Supplied with Numark Cart.

Es , SPEED , TRIPS AND BLOW HERE WE ****ING GO!

Why? It aint my choice to make.

After DJ'ing a few months on my mates technics, i decided there was no point in getting anything else rather than technics. It was then i decided i would like to be a DJ, i wouldnt of bought technics if i was only gonna piss about.

Also i just happen to get £850 pay for my month, heh.

Yeah, same here Steve mate. Its so annoying that I don't have enough money to get a better Mixer and I've stopped buying tunage at the moment because I can't afford them either.

I got a loan to buy my technics well worth it i think instead of buyin a set then havin to arse around selling them and get another set should try that out. Then again if your not 100% sure about djing i dont see the point buyin technics but think u'll like it steve mate. Watever you do at least it's a start and you can always upgrade later but it jus means more money later. Plus mate dont think you necessarily need to buy loadsa tunes straight away only get ones you really want then keep buildin your collection buyin regularly. I made that mistake got a few vinyls i never use i can even chuck them up your way help you get started. But it is an expensive hobby i've spent an absolute fortune cos i like so many diff genres of hard dance need them all to keep my interest but if you really love your tunes it's worthwhile especially now i've had them nearly a year got a proper collection and start to hear all your hard work paying off.
