so any way im just wondering how to record your own mixes on to a pc.. thanx.. maybe someday i will be famous like silver

well, if you want to record, first you should figure out where you have an audio input on your computer. If you have a sound card, you should have some RCAs you can use, and if not, you might see an 1/8" jack somewhere either on the front or back of the computer. Then, you have to figure out what program to use. I found that Roxio had a way to capture live audio after I played with it for a little while.
Once you're sure you have that stuff, run a wire from your mixer to whatever inputs you have. This is where it helps to have more than one output on your mixer.
Anyways, find some way to test the levels. Roxio had a nice little piece that would show you when you were peaking out, meaning that the sound would become distorted because it was too loud. Test it to make sure that the loudest part of your mix won't end up getting distorted, and also make sure that all the subtlties and quiet parts are still audible.
Once you have all of that, start recording....and re-recording.....and re-recording. Be a little careful with disc space. Most things will record into a .wav file, and an hour long .wav file takes up A LOT of space on your computer. Its fine to have a few mixes up, but I know my computer started crawling when I neglected to get rid of old sets and allowed them to eat up all of my memory.
Have fun and keep at it, most people don't have a perfect mix the first time they record, but at least you'll have something to listen to in the car and such.

I use Soundforge and always have done. A good recorder as you can do many different things to it to edit it, like normalizing the sound etc.

wit roxie do u need to burn it to a cd? or it will just creat a file on ur pc?

with my Roxio it created a file, then I burned it to CD. I suggest you listen to it, or at least the mixes before saving though. it sux when you think you nailed everything, then you hear a beat slip later.

Who me?
I use Cool Edit 2000 - they dont make it anymore - Adobe bought it but I am sure they have something simular. It only costs like 50 bucks. Plug your mixes line out or record out into your computer line in. Adjust your computer mixer so that recording levels are correct and that line-in is selected and not microphone.
Record your mix - making sure you have enough disk space before starting.

and i have everything i need about 90 gb on my pc wit a nice sound card
1 thing do i plug the output from the mixer to the input in the computer?

Most mixers have a record out and and line out, if it doesn't you will have to run it from the record out / tape out on the amp because you need to record and hear the mix at the same time.

hey silver im using cool edit 2000 and im reviewing my mix rite now and i can barely here it.. how do i make the voloume hire

you can also run your mix through a tube warmer type program to make your sound nice and full.

Just recorded my very first mix, 'bout half hour long, using Silent Bob http://www.silent-bob.de/en/ . Its good times. Just plugged my mixers line out through the rca-->minijack wire I have to the line in on my computer. Then I tested a record out, and it played through my speakers. You might have to do some tweaking to get that, but I believe that in WinXP the line-in plays directly through your speakers (which would be hooked to the computers line out). I then told Silent Bob to record, and wa-laa! recorded a half hour mix that took up 325mb of a .wav file. So there is no quality loss. I then will eventually use Acid Express (not Avid, but ACID) to edit the dead time before and after I hit record. And mabey to spruce up the mix with some better EQ effects and Gain controll.
You know. Because sometimes you forget about all those shiny knobs on your mixer ^^)>
... but I only have 12. So thats no excuse.

easy, in the back of your mixer, plug in rca cables into the tape plug-ins, from there on the other end of ur wire, should be a rca that goes into a like 1/8 stereo jack adaptor(size of headphones plug-ins) u plug the headphone jack into the line-in audio, in the back of your tower(there are three options, mic line=out, and line-in) on my computer it is marked with purple and line-out is green- then u get a program( i reccomend sony, soundforge 6.0) u install that, b4 using the program, go to your audio options at the bottom right corner of ur screen( the speaker with sound waves coming out o fit) double click that, at the top left, click options, properties, there are two volume adjustments, recording and playback, select recording, it will give u which volumes to view and where to record from, select line-in, then go back to soundforge, hit the red record button and your off, if your mixer has the volume to high, then your recording will be really crappy, i reccomend lvl 5,(works for me)

and also i have pictures of all the wires and plugins u need, so if u need help feel free, i could walk u through it. o and make sure ur rca are gold plated, and as short as possible

like jeremyc said it takes up a lot of space, the lovely thing about soundforge is that it will convert your wav to mp3
