I'm thinking I need an Alpha Juno 2... I stumbled upon this VSTi and it looks like it may be somthing fun to play with until I can afford to buy a real juno 2. Has anyone used this, or can anyone comment on the quality compared to a real juno2?

I plan on trying the demo tonight, but just wondered if anyone had any input on it... plus I'm bored at work. :)

I've tryed this, and it's really good for Hoovers, very much like the real thing :) I want an Alpha Juno myself, they are wicked for old Hardcore sounds :) It's alot better than the emulation by ReFX in my opinion, i'm surprised you found this one before the ReFX one :)
In comparison to the real thing i would say it's quite good, though i've never used a real one.

I have to say though, if i was to judge it by the presets i might not like it much, but because i make my own sounds i can get the most out of it, and it really is good for dirty gritty sounds :)

I noticed that too about the presets... although the hoover patch with just a couple twists is the shiznit! :) To be honest, I had been trying to figure out how to get that sound, but never have been able to and I wasnt sure what a hoover actually sounded like... just from that preset I learned a lot and I cant wait to start playing with hoovers on my Waldorf now. :)

Def worth the money.

Any other soft synths you can think of that you like or recomend?

Definately :) The synth i use by far the most is the Novation V-Station(http://www.novationmusic.com/nov_route/docs/prods/vstation/vstation_over.htm), i also think it is at least the joint best soft synth there is, at least, for more Trancy sounds. But this synth does everything i could ever want, and nothing is over complicated. I've have yet to find a synth that does all the things this can do in such a good way, and also has the same sound quality.
But again, you need to be able to program is yourself to get the most out of it, like with all synths. In fact, i learnt 90% of my programming (not that i have alot of them) skills from this synth.
Although this is my opinion.
Native Instruments synths are equally as good as this. I don't think there are any better synth making than those of Native Instruments and Novation. Novation make hardware so it makes sense that they make good softt synths.
I think the best Native Instruments synths are the Pro 53, and FM7.
The FM7 though is hard to programme, or at last, alot harder than normal synthesis.
The Pro 53 is good for trance and pads. The FM7 is good for pads aswell, and other random sounds.

Another really good synth is the ReFX Vanguard, which is a fairly new synth i think. Good for Trance again.
There is another synth that's really good aswell, called Albino, though i forgot who makes it. The presets on that are made by the person who made the precets for the Access Virus, which as you may know, is an extremely good hardware synth.
If you like acid, then there is the Audiorealism Bassline, which is a TB303 emulator, and the best emulator there is i believe. I particulaly like this because it does slides and accents, like the original, which no other VSTi that i know of does, and there are important for a really good acidline, in my opinion.
I'm sure i will remember more, but those are the main ones i always use, and which i think are the best :)
