just wanted to know what everyone links their decks up to when they're playing at home. I've got mine up to a normal stereo and it sounds fine when one tune is playing but the second the fader's brought across and two tunes are playing the whole thing goes into one distorted mess!
the mixes sound fine through my headphones (honest!), so it must be the sound system I'm using. I'm gonna buy something specially to play my decks through and want to know if anyone's got any recommendations. was looking at building up a separates system, sub, speakers and amp but it's gonna cost so I need it to be right! what does everyone else use?

you've got the gain set to high going into your stereo. You need to either turn down your master volume on your mixer, or if your stereo input has a gain (or input level) dial then turn this down. Its not likely to be your stereo's fault, just the settings.

dont use the xfader use the volume sliders, honest.
I was all against it first but then I tried it and my mixes sound alot more balanced (volume) now.

cheers guys, my gain and master volumes were set too high. now i've got a much better sound and no need to cane hundreds of quid on a new setup
