Either brisk & trixxy - eyeopener or elevate (vinylgroover) - the terminator for me. I remember my friend went to two raves before introducing the scene to me and I totally recall thinking man my friend is listening some really weird stuff. I couldn't even the understand the appeal at first cause I was on the sasha and digweed bandwagon (which I still dig by the way, happens to compliment hhc very well i think) and totally thought my friend was a lunatic for listening to music like that. The next month I went to my first rave with like a group of fifteen hardcore fanatics, saw simon apex play tons of choons like ravers anthem and wonderful world plus many more, all of them new to me at that time, but when the terminator came on I was absolutely lost in hardcore bliss. (Can't press the proverbial repeat button endlessly and love that song forever, but if you've never heard it pick up The World of Obsession 31, turn the speakers way way way up and be in for a treat) A couple days later all of a sudden I had eyeopener in my head but didn't know it's name or where I could find it so I burned my friend's happy 2 b hardcore cd's and went on a mad search for that incredibly simple but timeless riff. I'll admit I've heard much better stuff since then but the first times hearing those tunes were unforgettable. The rest is just history. Hardcore forever.

O yeah !!
"Oh my goodness, Oh my Gosh. Here we go with a badboy rush".

Back in 94 or 95 (I was about 13 or 14 I guess) there was a community radio station here in Sydney called 2RDJ FM, and they had a show on weekdays from 4-6pm called Overdrive (hosted by diff. people doing diff. dance styles everyday), and Wednesday's Overdrive was happyhardcore.
Anyway, this show was ballistic! I used to tape the whole 2 hours every week!
Some of the songs I remember that I first listened to were 'Six Days', 'Life is a mystery' by Erasorheads (not Rave is a mystery, this one was 100 times better!), 'Live @ London'... Ahhh the memories
...but there was this one song that I loved, and I don't know the name. I think it's by Search and Destroy, and it had a sample of a dude saying 'U wanna smoke somthing, smoke this one', and this high pitched voice singing going 'We're the happy happy people'
Any ideas?
Tune in, turn on... rock out!
