288 character signature, now that is unheard of :)
A signature is suppose to be your name and stuff not a message in itself....
I think 255 character's is already way too much... perhaps think of a different way of saying what you want to say.

Well if you want to use a lot of different colors you're soon way above 255. But alot of colors = annoying so I guess that's good too. =)
