I need help.

I've been planning on getting a pair of Ortofon Concorde Pro's. I just talked to my friend who said he could get them for me cheap, and he told me there are some other needles (American DJ Banana) that are exactly the same but for $50 cheaper. Now I want someone who has tried one or both to tell me what is different about these. Obviously the Ortofons should be better quality as they are $100 each. But I'd still like to know. Thanks!

i can't be of much help, but this sounds a bit dodgy. I've never heard of these american dj banana things, but ortofon are quite nice. Not very good for scratching mind

I wouldnt go for anything thats made by american dj myself as i think they are too cheap and new a company. I use ortofon om scratch needles and they are super. Ortofon are all good quality. If your gonna scratch i wouldnt get Concords but if your not then id say the concords are a good choice.

Personnally though id look into a standard one like the om dj which is cheaper than the concords and better sound quality.

sorry correction they are pretty much the same quality. Im just saying youl pay a lot more for concords and imo it wont be worth it.

What I'm asking, is which are you talking about? Concorde compared to what?

Standard Om needles from Ortofon. They do the whole range that they have in concord in an OM range too. A lot cheaper. And better for scratching.

That's what I'm using right now. And I'm not liking Shure too much. Both mine and my friends Shure have the same problems that we can't seem to fix. They end up playing more sound on the right channel than the left so I have to pan quite a bit to get it centered.

If you ask me, never buy anything American DJ, it's made in China junk.

I also do not recommend stanton, every time I used them they jump all over the place when I'm trying to que.
