State/Territory: Minnesota

On April 3rd, 2004, Constructed Events brings to you:

NEW DAWN
Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
DOORS OPEN: 9:00pm (No admittance after 3:00am!)
AGES: 16+
ROAR In Effect
TICKETS: $20 Advance, MOTD

We've worked long and hard to put together the most diverse lineup possible and to present one of the biggest Minneapolis events in quite some time. Yes, we are a new crew, but we come with a lot of experience and a lot of love and dedication to presenting the best event possible!

The DJ Lineup:

Room One:

FREAKY FLOW w/MC FLIPSIDE ("The Envy" CD Release Tour, Topaz Records, www.freakyflow.com, mcflipside.com; Toronto - Drum and Bass)

One of the most popular drum and bass duos in North America, Freaky Flow & Flipside are always in-demand, both here and all over the world. Their mix CD collaborations on Moonshine Music and Topaz Records have sold thousands and thousands of copies and have won them acclaim within the drum and bass world. Freaky Flow's brilliant scratching and flow are always complimented perfectly by Flipside's lyrical mastery. This is their first visit to Minneapolis, and we hope you're ready for this!

ANGEL ALANIS (A-Squared Muzik, www.angelalanis.com; Los Angeles - House/Techno)

A once longtime resident of Chicago's house and techno scene, Angel Alanis has since relocated to Los Angeles, where he has worked to establish himself as one of the best house and techno DJs in the country. His tracks have been on countless CDs throughout the world, appearing on compilation albums such as Global Underground, House Blend and Underground Construction. He will make you shake your ass, as he has done in hundreds of clubs and parties worldwide!

GRAYAREA (LIVE PA) (Hope Recordings, Bedrock, Graylabel.net; Chicago - Prog. House/Breaks)

Formed in 2001, Grayarea didn't take long to make an impact in the progressive and breaks scene. Their track "One For The Road", became a progressive house anthem. Soon after came "Yewminyst", which was featured on Nick Warren's critically-acclaimed "Global Underground 024 - Singapore" CD set, and recently the group remixed one of Bedrock's biggest tracks, "Emerald" for Bedrock's special 50th release. We're proud to present this very special Live PA for their first time in Minneapolis!

PAUL BIRKEN (LIVE PA) (Tonewrecker Recordings, Communique, Framework Music; Minneapolis - Techno)

For the last 10+ years, Paul Birken has been a mainstay in American techno. His releases on labels such as Drop Bass Network, Communique, Teknotik America, and Catalyst have defined his sound and brought him praise from some of the world's biggest techno DJs and producers. We're very honored to have a Live PA from one of Minneapolis' best-known artists. Get ready for one of the best live techno acts around!

JOEY MAZZOLA (Solmatic Records; San Francisco - House)

Joey is one of the rising stars of North American house music. He is a driving force behind Solmatic Records, along with David Garcia and Jay Walker, which has released the likes of Richard "Humpty" Vission, Charles Feelgood, Angel Alanis, Dave Armstrong, and others. His diversity within the house genre ranges from funky and banging to deep, and his ability to read what a crowd wants is renowned throughout the West Coast. This is his first appearance in Minneapolis, expect nothing but the best!

JEFF HUNTER (www.jeffhunter.ws; Minneapolis - Breaks)

Jeff has been a force to be reckoned with in the Midwest breaks scene for quite some time now. His mixing abilities and his upfront track selection have helped him to become a top DJ in the area. Tonight this breakbeat technician will be manning the decks and is planning on dropping some huge broken bombs, creating random dancefloor destruction!

JAMES PATRICK (Vital Vinyl; Minneapolis - Techno)

James is a crafty veteran on the decks. He's been one of the most in-demand DJs in the Twin Cities, and tonight he'll show you why. Nobody can bring on the minimal techno like he can. Get ready for those bleeps and clicks!

DEEJAY NEKO (True Funk Army; Minneapolis - House/Breaks)

Neko got his start back in 1997 on KUMD, where he got his own radio show and was widely praised for his diverse selection of music. Since then he's gone to become one of Minneapolis' favorite residents, blending house and breaks seamlessly in both clubs and parties alike. This local hero will keep you dancing from start to finish!

Room Two (Hardcore/Happy Hardcore/U.S. Hard House):

[lurl="/records/record_artistprofile.asp?action=artistdisplay&artistinfoid=13"]LUNA C[/lurl] (Kniteforce Records North American Tour; London, UK - Breakbeat Hardcore/Drum & Bass/Old Skool)

Truly a legend within the hardcore genre, Luna C got his start back in 1992 as part of the Smart-E's, who wrote Sesame's Treet. From there, he started Kniteforce Records, a truly legendary and influential old skool and hardcore label. He has stuck to his breakbeat hardcore sound as well as experiments in gabber and happy hardcore on his KFA (Knite Force Again) label. His DJ sets are nothing short of mental, ranging in hardcore, drum and bass, old skool, and gabber. His first time in Minneapolis, and a set not to be missed!

[lurl="/records/record_artistprofile.asp?action=artistdisplay&artistinfoid=27"]UFO[/lurl] (Raver Baby, Jelly Baby; London, UK - UK Hardcore)

Easily one of the best "under-the-radar" DJs/producers in the UK hardcore scene, UFO is currently producing for the biggest label in the scene and has worked with countless artists in the past 10 years. His sound is very influential and very unique. One of his newest tracks "New Year's Day", has been doing the rounds on promo for months and has been played at major events worldwide. He's also known as a wicked DJ. He'll be bringing some of the newest hardcore out of the UK. All trainspotters, get ready!

[lurl="/records/record_artistprofile.asp?action=artistdisplay&artistinfoid=751"]OMAR SANTANA[/lurl] (H2OH Recordings; Los Angeles - Hardcore/Gabber)

Omar has come up from the streets of Queens, New York to become one of America's most popular hardcore/gabber DJs. He has since moved out to Los Angeles, one of the centers of hardcore in North America, and has strengthened his H2OH label while producing some of the best hardcore parties L.A. has ever seen in the "Headstrong" series while still keeping up his busy DJing agenda worldwide. For the first time in years, Omar sets foot in Minneapolis to truly bring the pain!

[lurl="/records/record_artistprofile.asp?action=artistdisplay&artistinfoid=1061"]DJ TRONIC[/lurl] (Resistance Recordings, Liquid Vinyl DJs, AdrenalineAM; San Francisco - U.S. Hard House/Hardcore)

Once a resident of Minneapolis, DJ Tronic has moved on to San Francisco, where he has watched his label Resistance Recordings grow into one of the world's top U.S. Hard House labels. He has toured Spain, where the popularity of his genre has skyrocketed, and plans to return again in the summer. He remains intensely active in North America, frequently traveling to bang it out for partygoers everywhere while still running his label and throwing some of the best parties in the Bay under Liquid Vinyl DJs. Are you ready for some hard beats?!

[lurl="/records/record_artistprofile.asp?action=artistdisplay&artistinfoid=948"]CLOUDSKIPPER[/lurl] (Raw Elements, Liquid Vinyl DJs, Sonic Fury; San Francisco - UK Hardcore)

Recognized as one of the top Hardcore DJs here in the USA and now the World, Cloudskipper continues to energize and amaze Hardcore lovers everywhere! His energetic onstage presence and his top notch track selection has earned him appearances all over the world, including 2 tours in the UK. When it's all said and done, one thing can be said about him: he will almost surely have you dancing to every beat!

[lurl="/records/record_artistprofile.asp?action=artistdisplay&artistinfoid=944"]DJ SPREE[/lurl] (SpreeAndADB.com, Sonic Fury; Minneapolis - UK Hardcore)

One of North America's best and most popular hardcore DJs for years, Spree is a hometown hero in the Minneapolis electronic music scene. As shunned as happy hardcore has been in the past, Spree has always remained popular both here and abroad. His mixing and scratching techniques are revered and copied, but rarely duplicated. We are proud to have him for the biggest hardcore lineup in Minneapolis in years!

NO LEFT TURN (Liquid Vinyl DJs; San Francisco - Who Knows?!)

One of the most popular and innovative hardcore DJs on the West Coast is seeing his popularity rise amongst hardcore ravers in North America. This is his first appearance in Minneapolis, and we'll be as surprised as you as to what he plays!

VIRUS (HappyHardcore.com, Totally Sweet Radio, Goodfellaz; Toronto - Breakbeat Hardcore/Old Skool)

A huge advocate of the breakbeat hardcore scene, Virus has pushed it the hardest in the growing Toronto hardcore scene, alongside Ruffage and Mannik. He is the longtime host of the radio show he created for HappyHardcore.com called Totally Sweet Radio, where the hardcore and comedy antics flow freely. This is his first time in Minneapolis. Get ready to brock out to the breakbeat sound!

SAIYAN (Dork Knights, Airhead, F3; Toronto - UK Hardcore)

As a co-founder of Airhead Productions along with DJ Mannik, Saiyan has thrown some of the best hardcore parties in the Toronto area. Couple that with his appearances at parties such as Hullabaloo! and Goodfellaz events and you can see why he's one of Toronto's most talented rising stars for hardcore!

JUMPER (Hullabaloo!, Ruffneck Playaz Crew, Gagproductions.com; Rochester, NY)
VERBAL (Twenty 1 Crew, Hardstyle Management; Seattle)

Room Three:

MADKID w/ MC CROW (aka "No Return Ticket!"; Minneapolis - Drum and Bass)

Minneapolis' own dynamic duo, Madkid and Crow have been doing this longer than most can remember. Madkid is seen by many as a pioneer for drum and bass in the Minneapolis scene and has played alongside just about every major act that has come through the Twin Cities. Along with MC Crow, these two make a dynamic duo that knows how to rock a crowd!

TYCO (Goodfellaz, Outer Space Records; Toronto - Drum and Bass)

One of the DJs leading the hardcore revolution in Toronto is Tyco. His co-ownership of both Goodfellaz and Outer Space Records is creating an alternative to the constant supply of anthems. All this information is well-known to the versed hardcore raver. What is not well known is how talented he is at playing drum and bass!

JAREFOX vs. DEXYL (Joekerland, Airhead, F3, Wnysor; Rochester, NY - UK Hardcore)

These two have been making serious waves in the hardcore hotbed of Western New York and Southern Ontario. With their frequent bookings and constant supply of energy, they plan to make their first appearance in Minneapolis a memorable one!

PAUL KNOX (PaulKnox.net; Minneapolis - Vocal Drum and Bass)

Who could this possibly be?! Minneapolis' favorite hardcore DJ has taken up a new pseudonym for his other love, drum and bass, and breaks it out for the first time in his hometown! His selection of smooth, jazzy and vocal drum and bass has opened many eyes including our own, and will continue to do so at this event!

SYMMETRY (Bassheadz Crew; Minneapolis - Drum and Bass)

Symmetry has quickly become one of Minneapolis' favorite drum and bass DJs. Her ability to drop the right track at just the right time and blend her set together flawlessly has earned her accolades throughout the Minneapolis dance community. She's ready to drop the bass that will break your face!

OGG BORFIS (LIVE PA) (Passport Recordings; Minneapolis - Drum and Bass)

Ogg Borfis is a very unique live act. Heavily influenced by such legendary bands as Nine Inch Nails and Front Line Assembly, this duo has worked to create music that is very diverse, varying from experimental, IDM and drum and bass. Truly a special musical act. Don't miss it!

TERRA FIRMA (Teopelli, www.twentysevenmusic.com; Minneapolis - Ragga Jungle)

Terra Firma brings the noise wth her wicked brand of old school, amen rollers and North American ragga-jungle. Prepare to move and shake while the breaks burn out your ear hairs!

ECTO-1 & WEIRDBOY w/ MC TERROR (Involuntary Groove; Minneapolis - Drum and Bass)
