try em out and see what you like. Cd decks are becoming a lot more popular but a lot of labels do not release stuff on cd yet. So you would have to buy the vinyl and burn to cd anyway. I personnally mainly use vinyl and have 1 cd deck too.
But i think if your gonna be mixing hardcore i would recoomend to start on vinyl as there is a lot more of that available right now.

Yeah I've been looking at picking up something like this...
Only $300 US and you get both and the mixer thats cheap right?
But then I saw the technics one that acts like vinyl, click below for pic.
http://tek.moo.jp/_img/224.jpg But that's gonna cost around $1000 US..for one! They will also release a mixer to compliment it too. But that's faaar too much for me. Maybe one day... But anyways that first one looks mighty enticing, mainly because it's cheap, and I'm a cheap bastard, we will go well together. But the reviews haven't been that great...like 7/10 and it could be because it doesn't have looping...I don't see why you need looping that bad...well hopefully that will just drive the price down even more by the summer. :P Nearly all of my statements started with "But". :P ----- http://www.soundclick.com/nrxic ^^^Mah Chewnz "From the mean streets of Calgary, Alberta, Canada!" - Jericho

I dont know about more skill. Its the same idea really. If you go for cd decks then id recommend ones with touch sensitive jog wheels, ie. technics, numark axis 8/9 , pioneer cdj 800/1000 , denon
But then they are very pricey. And to be honest id still recommend starting with vinyl if your spinning hardcore

personally i would never go for cd decks they just don't have the right feel. but if you still want to get cd decks wait untill the numark cdxs come out they have been getting brilliant reviews already and in my opinion will be the best cd deck on the market by the end of this year
