Whats everyone's thoughts on this? Usually it is difficult to match an original and Eiffel 65- Blue is considered a masterpiece but I think that Scott Brown did pull it off and at least make a worthy remix. It actually has effects that make you think of some of his releases that would come in the following years and would fit in with a lot of 2002 releases.

Despite it's then modern presentation there is one part that starts at around 3 mins in that uses a slightly darker more dreamy synth that is not too far off from the darker forms of Jungle that was big a few years earlier. Perhaps this was a nod to the earlier rave sounds and it's appearance in this release gives it something different to the original at least.

Perhaps being released during the twilight period in 2000 it was never going to be easy to get a big hit out from Hardcore but if you where to ask me what the best release of the year is then I think that this one would be the best effort. It might not be able to touch the original but it is still ahead of the more recent release that simply changes the vocals and has none of the rawness and emotion of the original 1998/1999 release that only got the airplay it deserved thanks to an Italian radio station giving it a chance. Without that then Scott Brown would have missed out on the chance to give a pretty decent remix!

I've always liked it. Although, I prefer the other side 'From The Underground'. I remember Vibes playing both at the last ever Helter Skelter 'Millennium Jam' on New Years Eve 1999.

Also. This was a joint project between Scott Brown & Tony Aungsoe (Interstate). Video title is wrong.

Tony isn't listed as credited though. I think, judt like q-tex, it ended up being just Scott Brown.

Interstate isn't even credited on the original label either, so you're probably right. I think the white label releases had Interstate written in pen, so that's maybe where it's come from. Most likely a Scott Brown solo project then.

From the underground is where it’s at, amazing track, although the blue remix is probably the best you could hope for as a remix of that track.
Also calling it Died In Aberdeen was genius

I'd like to congratulate you on the most effective click-bait topic that HH.com forums has experienced. I'm thankful that Scott Brown did not die in Aberdeen recently. Tune is sound imo!

I like it, it’s not everyday a track is made about my home city.

You can definitely see where the hardcore sound was heading and wasn’t too far off the sound from the Hardwired era.

It would've been a clickbaity topic if it wasn't for the obvious " - " in between the name and track.

True, but I can see how someone who wasn't familiar with the record might well be alarmed for a second!
