Is the rave scene still a drug-scene? Serious question.
I am aware that in artistic circles the aspect of getting high is not rare. But Come on, and hour and a half of intentionally focusing on drug use, is that really where we want to take it after all these years?
Seriously.

Woah, I didn't mean to cause any offence mate?! It's just a bit of fun... I think unfortunately drugs are a part of the rave scene, maybe not as big. This was just an idea I had for a mix, I'm not condoning drug use

And that is precisely why I point it out. Seeing as drug use is not as big as it was years ago, I feel as artists/DJs, we've got a chance to re-focus the sights on the craft itself. Producing, DJing, Dancing; all that good stuff!
I can see why you would choose this as an artistic statement. It's not just you who came up with the specific theme, obviously. I just think that maybe by building upon the healthy parts of the artistry, the unity the scene is obviously lacking will flourish once again.
As someone said: “the opposite of addiction is not sobriety, the opposite of addiction is connection.”

Fair play mate I hear you, and can totally get behind what you're saying! Like I said, it was just a kind of daft idea for a mix that I had, and I didn't mean to cause any offence by it! Totally dig what you do btw, wish I had the brains to create!

I highly disagree, the Drugs are STILL a massive part for raving these days.
I've lost count of the Raves i've been to this year, and every single one you'll find 80% off there head. I myself don't touch them anymore. And have'nt for years now.

It's been well over 20 years for me of not taking any, which is why I dare to say you can still enjoy the music and stuff without them. I've also seen many people on this forum come and go that never even touched any.
20 years ago, though, you'd still get a lot of people primarily talking about E's and stuff on the forum.
I know if I go out to a club, regardless of the style of music, there'll be people that use, probably the majority, yes. But If you ask me, though, the online/international rave scene/community does not revolve around the drug consumption anymore, or has at least branched out to a point where one can participate with a clear head.
I enjoyed this music before doing the hard drugs and like I said, over 2 decades later I'm still here for the music.
