I wasn't quite sure where to post this so I chose the production forum. Anyway, about 3 years ago, I set off to revive the 2000s era sound, reading up on the synths, sample packs, fx, production techniques etc. that were used during that era. I think I've finally created what I set out to do (with my own twist, of course) I just wanted to thank all of those who pointed me in the right direction. There are way too many names to mention, but you know who you are. Anyway, here it is:

Wow! Nice one! The drums are spot on! That snare especially is nice and crispy. Love it! The vocal sample could've seen a little bit more variety in terms of the sequence throughout. All in all, very genuine sound from that era.
Great Job! :)

@DJ_FunDaBounce
Thanks, m8! I'm hoping this track will get people talking. It's been over a decade since this style has been in the spotlight. I've always preferred the classic chunky, bouncy,
Trancy, ravey, and Gabber-esque sound over the sped-up Electrostep sound. It's time. 😎
I agree with you on the sequential variance of the vocal sample, but I wanted to make sure it was consistent.

@Alex T
You're welcome, I've always held the sentiment of prioritizing the music and the listener over profit. Let me know what you think!

Couldn't agree more, my friend. I can't stand the hardstyle-pitch-bendy-lead-and-serum-FM-bass-sound of hardcore that has been going on for the past 10 years. I like hardstyle, but HHC and hardstyle were, and should stay, different styles. It's fine if a couple of tracks here or there have that sound, but almost all of the new tracks have it and that's not good!
Take this track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpzoB2W_Hs8 Now, compare that with the very first mix I selected after typing in "Happy Hardcore 2021" on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1Az32XR3Sw The first five tracks all had the same lead sound. After that, I stopped listening. This is ridiculous! HHC has improved in the breakdowns, lyrically and (somewhat) musically, but in the buildups and drops it's all the same. I really hope it doesn't die.

@thedjjudah Well said. Personally, I don't think hardcore will ever die. Besides, we have people like us keeping it alive.

Yes, I agree! The vocal sample is way overdone and I personally miss the build-up during the second repeat of the break. The melody itself qualifies to be like the tracks, which had been published during the UK Hardcore era after the millennium.
Keep up your great developments, Doc McFly94! To my opinion you're on the right path!
