I was wondering if anyone knows of a program that can find the bpm of something ,as i want to timestretch or whatever you call it .Im doing it in soundforge 7 and the BPM says that it is 120 ,but i think it does that for every song i have on it ,so is it the real BPM or what can i use to get a BPM?

In soundforge you need to select a section of audio that you know how many beats there are in it. Make sure it loops correctly (hit the play looped button) and adjust it until it is nice and smooth. Then hit edit tempo. Fill in the box that says something like "number of beats" and then click out of the box. The tempo should now be displayed in teh box marked "tempo" or whatever.

*Tip* I always select a good few bars of audio so that you get a reasonable average for the tempo
