Promise Family presents

Holiday Massive
The Premiere Southern Drum n Bass Showcase

Saturday December 13th, 2003
The Globe Theatre Atlanta
9pm - 6am
17+ up /$15 @ tha door
----------------

let's push things forward..... but we must recognize our past.
years of struggle and revolution,
everyone reaching out in their own way,
pushing the limits.
much time has lapsed since we last shared a moment.
this upcoming winter night is yours.
no headliners, no egos, no hype... let all of that go.
we're celebrating 3 years of consistently focusing our attnetion on what
matters,
real tunes and real talent for real people.
this ones for the working class, the true headz that live this everyday.
they say life comes in "waves and cycles" and this culture, our scene is no
different.
the same principles that built this lifestyle hold true today.
bring new friendly faces to quality events and educate them on music and
love.
old or new, we come correct by coming together.
following the very successful family massive last year in florida,
we are proud to announce the first interactive-charity event in atlanta
history.
we tip our hats to the southern scene. this is our massive... our way.
and we deserve a proper holiday celebration.
so lets do this like we know how. boh.

Masters of the Ceremony
MC Arion
EQ, 404 Audio, Detoured Souls

MC Race One
IMC, Versus, Shadow Law

Beatcamp [ Miami, FL ]
New Republic

With releases forthcoming on Kenny Ken and Mace's label Planet Funk UK, John
B's label Beta/Chihuahua UK, and material already in stores from Breakbeat
Science/Orgone these guys are really on the move. Following up last year's
successful 'Be Here Now Tour', these dynamic artists have had a non-stop
booking schedule all over the East Coast. This year they will again be the
featured US artists at the Metalheadz WMC showcase. Breaking new ground,
keeping the tunes original, and carrying themselves as gentlemen has earned
them respect from many avenues. They own.

----

Creole Orange [ Panama City, FL ]
Pope John_Serve One_MC203

Cajun style sunsets, palm trees, and a gulf coast hot spot has provided
these guys with a fantastic vehicle to develop their own sound. Anyone out
in the Panhandle recognizes them after managing one offs, major events,
residencies. You can usually hear them holding down the vibe as rotating
residents in Tallahassee at events such as 'On the Offensive' which is a DnB
weekly hosted by the Venus Crew, formed by MerideeJ. Big ups to the
Tallahassee Panhandle massive.

---

Detoured Souls [ Atlanta, GA ]
Torpor_solow_DVD_Dax_Arion

A few years ago, Torpor, Solow and Dvd began what was to become the Detoured
Souls. Soon starting an Internet radio show and later adding Dax & MC Arion
to the roster. Now that radio show has been going strong for nearly a year,
and the Detoured Souls have begun to expand to live shows, and moving
dancefloors at many recent parties. Keep an eye out for these guys in the
future.

---

Direction Collective [Gainesville, FL]
meets Therapy [Jacksonville, FL]
Comic_Wes Reed_MC Bryan Fury

North Florida might not have the DnB scene it has today without the combined
efforts of Gainesville's Direction Collective and Jacksonville's Therapy.
Constantly bringing in the best international talent, consistently providing
a platform for the music to be heard, and respecting everyone in the process
has brought these two mates a great deal of recognition. Combined, the two
crews have been supporting DnB for over ten years. Prepare yourself for the
ruckus, as these two veterans of the decks go head to head.

---

Evol Intent [ Atlanta, GA ]
Knick_Gigantor_The Enemy

A staple in the southeast drum and bass scene for the past few years, known
for fast, precise and technical mixing. They have gained respect across the
country, they decided that it was time to use some of their musical
abilities to start putting together original tracks. Their first single
co-produced, ³Take That² has been shaking bassbins all over the nation.
Following up after that success was a wide variety of sounds and releases
which have brought much recognition for their name. Tonight's hometown
favorites drive us towards sunlight, but first our ears will experience
their darkness.

---

Jungle Nerds [ Nashville, TN ]
JFK tha Lorax_Zebulon_Arden

The Nerds are quickly becoming a well-known name in the Southeast US music
industry. For the past 12 months, they have been turning out track after
track of incredible Jungle and Breaks for their own "Jungle Nerds
Recordings" and Nashville's own electronica record label "Experimental
Division ". Currently, they have at least 12 singles scheduled to hit the
market this year, and about two dozen more production and re-mix projects in
the works. Their first vinyl release of the year entitled "AMEN" sold out
before it even came off the presses and his several records in this series
will do the same. With a great team featuring Odissi, Dart and Dorian, this
unique blend is definitely worth listening to.

---

KnightBreed [ Pensacola, FL ]
Ram - Z_Redlyne_Silentz_MC Saga

Nobody brings it like they do. Its been a long year for the Breed,
overcoming personal obstacles, fires, and an increased appetite for DnB in
Pensacola has provided them no rest. 'Impact' has been their latest gift to
the gulf coast, a bi-weekly event showcasing new producers and national
talent. Coming correct from a diverse scene, these mavericks own the decks
and were forced to create their own market. So many DJs began playing and
hosting events out on the Emerald coast which made the Breed strive to make
themselves shine. Leading the pack, believing in each other, and carrying
themselves with humble attitudes have landed them gigs across the southeast.

---

Out Tha Box [ Jackson, MS ]
360 Degrees_Kaneda_Jahli_MC Logic

Pride of the southern sound. Representing the Bayou sounds of DnB from
their hearts and minds our family is grateful they would share their tunes
on this night. Coming from way out past civilization, when we say these
guys are pushing the front lines, we mean it. True souljahs everyone of
them. Representing a crew with close to a dozen artists, these few are able
to grace the decks with a furious passion. Oh, you thought this was an
urban sound? Check yo self.

---

Queen City Junglists [ Charlotte, NC ]
Jabari_Vic Vega_New Tactics_Way

Holding down the fort over in Charlotte, NC, this crew deserves our respect.
Started with a West Coast flavor many years ago, the vibe and energy that
surround DnB in that area must be due to the fine promotion of the sound we
love. Sometimes to really get the true pulse of an area, you have to ask
someone who is a visitor. When we questioned a prominent UK DnB artist
which scene was the best on the East Coast, they replied without hesistation
"Charlotte man, its all the rage..." Nuff said.

---

Rebel Empire [ Raleigh, NC ]
J-Vynil_Aeon_Bane_CMOS_Gaspra_EmyJ

You could say the groundwork for the future of Raleigh DnB was laid at the
now historic Berkeley Cafe. Perhaps you could argue their crew was born out
of the Underland Collective. In either case, it was then that the core
members of the now respected rebellion first met. Before long, these
dedicated musicians sought to build bridges within the flourishing NC DnB
scene. Be on the lookout for many suprises from them in the future.

---

Rinse and Repeat [ Wilimngton, NC ]
Basic Operations_Sapien

Since their formation in 2001 the past few years have seen nothing but
uphill development for them. Sirus and Catullus have collaborated and done
solo tunes for such esteemed labels as Advanced, Freak, Renegade, Phuturo,
Circle and many others this year, and they are helping to bring attention to
Southeast DnB from heads all over the world. Sirus, an established DJ, has
been rockin crowds since 99' with heavy vibes, intense tunes, tight mixes
and an incredible selection of dubplates. Prepare for a Christmas treat as
special guest Sapien(Crowd Control/Proper-Chlt.nc) joins Sirus tonight for
an exclusive session! Not to be missed!

---

U.G.T. [ Birmingham, AL ]

Breaking new ground isnt easy, so when these guys decided to form together
they knew it would be an uphill battle. Deep in the south, especially in
Alabama, attitudes are slow to change. People know what they like and they
know what they want. Once these guys hit back about two years ago, they had
to really prove themselves to everyone else. Totally professional
attitudes, a fine display of honor and an relentless schedule have helped
them prove that they are one of the Southeasts finest crews. Together with
Dark Empire, UGT keeps things as real as they canfor the DnB crowd in Bama.
Big Up.

Three Areas of Sound featuring
'Something for Everyone"

Spade Tight 'Live Trance-Hop PA'
Cire_Fatsaks_MC Pearl_MC Lazy Boi_MC Fontaine

Stepping up to the scene in Atlanta over the past 3 years they have put
together one of the most unbelievable sounds they like to call Trance Hop.
They have consistently played intense gigs during 2003 and have made crowds
move with dangerous sounds they drop into the hearts and mind of everyone.
Be on the look out for this crew as they take on stages all across the
southeast with their hard driving, uplifting, spiritual breakdown¹s of mind,
body, and sound!

Jory Johnson (aka Sublime)
Special Two Hour Extended Set
M.I.L.K / VB / Promise

Everyone has that certain person that life would not be the same without.
Atlanta's behind-the-scenes master has kept vigil on his dance scene, and
has been waiting for his due. We have listened closely as he entertained
the spirits of venues past. This holiday season we should all show respect
and our appreciation for years of dedication, devotion, and discipline.
Rubbing elbow with the finest talent in the industry has brought his record
bag so many unique tunes, that we had to turn the spotlight on and show
everyone the true gift this season.

---

Kit Mobley [ Ft. Lauderdale, FL ]
Promise / Hazmat / KitMobley.com

His reputation usually precedes him wherever he goes. Known throughout the
industry for a variety of accomplishments, this gentleman has rescued more
events from disaster than I can remember. Whether behind the scenes or in
front of the decks, this electronic maestro has earned our respect.
Graphics design, visuals, production, web design, printing, lighting design,
sound engineering... all areas he feels comfortable with. Truly one of the
most hard working artists in the electronic community.

---

DJ Messiah [ Ft. Lauderdale, FL ]
Promise / Container Records / Max Music / Universal

Bringing back one of Atlanta's all time favorites, DJ Messiah has paid his
dues and proven himself on the dance floor across the country. Renown for
his work with Inner Vision Music, Max Music, Container Records, and
Universal, he has now joined forces with Promise and is ready to rock your
world with that Nu Skool sound. The same DJ that opened the Globe 3 years
ago is back!!

---

Belrok b2b Phatmann [ Georgia -- North Carolina ]
Sonic Geometry / Promise -- www.groundzerorecords.net

Belrok developed his own unique style of mixing/tricking/scratching and
landed his first affiliation with Playground in 2001. Since then has been
signed to Sonic Geometry and his first track should be coming out sometime
next year. Tonight he teams up with Phatmann, an impressive guest from
groundzerorecords.net in North Carolina. Phatmann has been writing music
and helping to run the most respected online record store for Hardcore in
North America. Do you love your hardcore?

---

Groove Control [ Alabama ]
Charlie B_Rob EC

Founded by Algernon back in 1999, this fine collection of southern talent
made its rise during the early days of the scene. Years of supporting
worthwhile events in the Alabama area has lent them the nickname "Heroes of
that Bama Sound." With love in their hearts, thunder in their bags, and a
sense of style, these cats from way down south sure know how to party.

---

Jygawatt / Lucent / Phalcore
Three Way Tag Session

After a brief hibernation, Christpher Brett has decided to join forces with
the folks over at Ntensive Kare Unit to bring you a triple dose of trance.
This moment will surely inspire any trance enthusiast to beg for mercy.

404 Error

Pounding Hi-NRG / Tech Trance with a funky edge would be a suitable
description for the sound this duo brings to the forefront. With explosive
record bags, this dancehall demolition crew might just make you move.
404Error was created last April and is composed of Zan and Zandy. Combined
they have been rocking dance floors for over two years. Both of them bring
a unique style and flavor to a genre Atlanta has been known to love. This
is still only the beginning of their journey.

---

Rain

A relative newcomer to the Atlanta scene, Rain along with the entire
M.I.L.K. have been rocking dancefloors every chance they get. Specializing
in breaks, but also fluent with trance and house, he always delivers a fresh
sound.

---

Reverend Jude b2b Audio Angel

These wildmen of the Atlanta Hard Dance scene have much in common. Both
have not been playing very long, and both have received alot of attention in
recent months. So what happens when you take two super sounds and mesh them
into one? We can't wait either.

Special Closing Sets from:

Variant [ Athens, GA ]
Dash Productions

and

Fluid Anarchy [ Meridian, MS ]
Liquid Mayhem Productions

Interactive-Charity Dance Event

"Dance With a Purpose"

Our culture embraces change. We have had our roots planted in positive soil
and we have grown through the years. The only clear path was one of
enlightenment, courage, and steadfast belief that electronic dance music
could truly make the difference. This upcoming holiday night, you will have
a voice when we decide together which charity deserves our attention and
love. Promise Family is proud to present an interactive-charity dance event
that will give you the ability to make that difference. We invite everyone
to celebrate with us, enjoy themselves responsibly, and dance with a
purpose.

Not trying to be a dick, if you're looking for raves try the events section in the forums. Although you might want to try a North Carolina specific site.
