Figured this was probably worth making a post for instead of just leaving it buried in the speculation thread.

So as you may have heard, Hardcore Underground 8 is a go, and Daniel Seven, AoS, and I are on mixing duties. We're coming down to the wire and are trying to make one last big push for people to get submissions in so as many people as possible have a chance to get in.

Criteria:

- New stuff only. Unreleased or very recently so.
- All hardcore styles, 170+, including the harder/faster stuff (I am 100% ending north of 200 on my disc)
- Final version, professionally mastered (hit CLSM if you need a hand there, the man is a wizard), wav format
- No bootlegs, no flips, no edits, no samples that could get anyone sued, no remixes of tracks you don't own the rights to, we're kinda passed the point where trying to clear things is a reasonable endeavour

Deets:

- Industry standard royalty split
- Hardcore Heaven model, sales on the HU site include unmixed tracks, don't send anything you don't want going out unmixed full length, we aren't doing radio edits
- Signed stuff is fine, but maybe hit your label up and have them submit on your behalf so that we have the contact details for the person that'll have to handle the licensing agreement

Submissions can be sent via WeTransfer to [email protected], I'll grab them and pass them to the others.

Please note "HU8" in the message box so I know it's for this and not a Kniteforce thing. Send it from an email you can be reached at, as that'll become our primary point of contact with you.

We now have a firm submission deadline of NEXT SUNDAY, AUGUST 16TH. One week from today. After that we're full speed ahead into finalizing the album.

Apologies for the really short timeline, we've been focusing our calls for submissions on other platforms, only really thought to hit up the few forums remaining like, today. Sorry, heh.

If you have any questions drop 'em here and I'll try to get to them but between my label duties, my day-to-day stuff, my Twitch streaming (absolute lifesaver in this pandemic), and working on this album time is something I'm in the negative on. But I'll do my best!

Hey guys, just wanted to take a brief second to say thank you to everyone who submitted tracks. I wish I could take the time to email each of you individually right now, but we're all pretty much done with final selections and license agreements are being sent out, so we're all in crunch mode trying to get everything finished up and ready for release.

Some KILLER stuff got sent in. Only a very small amount wasn't up to standard. And I mean VERY small. There are some insanely talented producers out there, some of you I'd never even heard of before. Future's looking pretty bright for the genre. :D

I may hit some of you up later once this album and one other project are done to inquire about either signing the tracks you sent for KFA, or asking you to do stuff for the label. Feel free to continue sending me stuff (this time unsigned/unreleased ONLY) if you're looking for a home for your tracks, as I'm always looking for new material for KFA, and if you make harder stuff, for Malice, which will be relaunching later this year (finally).

Thanks again everyone! <3

Thanks for keeping it 170+

Now, will there be mixing/transitions, or just quick switch overs at the 4th beat?

I didn't spend the last 20 years getting pretty okay at DJing just to turn around and do cut mixing on the biggest album mix I've ever done lol.

It'll be properly mixed. And I mean properly. I can't speak to the others as I don't know what their preferred approach is, but I'm not doing mine in a DAW, as is often done with many compilation albums. It'll be be me, on my decks, all transitions, EQing, cuts, etc done by hand on the fly. I AM gonna use some of the more modern tools available to me like beat-gridding and quantize to achieve the "perfect" feel of a digital mix, but with the character and feel of a proper DJ mix, and be reflective of my personal DJing style. Or as reflective as it could be given the limitations of a project like this, if I did it how I like to play it'd be 30 tracks with a bunch of mashups, and Jon and Gaz would be up to their necks in licensing agreements lol. But I am doing a couple of things that only a couple of people who have done albums like this have been known to do. Let's just say it will be rather.....zippy. Lively. Spry. Those words are a hint for my direction if you want to get Google out and do some sleuthing lol

And please, don't anyone take all of that as me throwing shade at people who do compilation mixes digitally, I have bought and enjoyed scores of those mixes, some of them rank as my favourite mixes of all times, album or otherwise. But for me personally, it's not the direction I wanted to go in. Doing it that way didn't feel true to myself.
