Something random i was thinking about earlier so just wanted to double check. Are the vast majority of hardcore tracks (preferably earlier stuff) all like 5-6 minutes long ? I get a lot of them have long beginnings and endings for mixing purposes but was just wondering if there are "radio edits" available for non DJ's such as myself that just like to listen to the tracks without these big intros.

Anything from 96 really when i first got in to the scene. Was listening to the Euro Mix of Shooting Star and was just thinking it would be good if that track and similars from that time had shorter versions.

Dance music in general has always had freedom in that sense (radio edits and what not). I guess most labels/producers don't always feel the need to do so.

A radio edit back in the day and up until recent tracks (which all seem to be radio edits cough monstershat) was more often than not just without the initial kickdrum buildup.
Sometimes a slight variation of extending the breakdown crescendo's would be unique to a radio mix.
Much better off doing it as a DIY job as not that many actual radio edits exist.

How would one go about editing a track to make it a "radio edit" length cleanly ?
How I would do it, is to load the track into a DAW, set the bpm to the tracks bpm, align the track to the timing marks on the DAW then just start chopping 16 bars off here and there.

A radio edit works better if you consider that not every music consumer is a DJ.
So, works better on YouTube, Spotify or Apple Music.
Bring the noise was basically a radio edit
I really like that track.
I couldn't release the extended mix of Bring The Noise because releasing 2 tracks that are cover tracks costs me the double, as I have to get 2 licenses. So, I preferred to release the version that was listener-friendly between the 2.

There's a phase going on now of only having 20 sec intros to *full length* tracks, which are also only 3:50 - 4:20 long. I'm glad there are still few artists out there making 5:00 - 6:00 tracks with proper intro and outros. Also, back in the day, the intros and outros were interesting, and not just a beat.

Thanks for the response. It?s a great track and it?s great for listening. It?s nice when people explain things like this instead of keeping quiet. I got my CD a few days ago. So all is good.
